Anything Scottish, just for fun!

Billy lives in Key West, Florida, he is still making TV, mainly
reminiscing, about some shows and remembering stories
that were never aired, the man he is telling things to is at
the back of the camera and he has an American accent, so
he must be on TV somewhere over there, if we've got it, then
you had it first.

Mike.
Maybe on Netflix, they don't care who they offend, I will see if I can locate something. I find his skits on you tube but had no idea he was still being aired currently. Thank you

Nothing on Netflix came up on Connolly but it did on Paramount but that took me to you tube o_O
I did find a very interesting series on Rt.66 that Connolly filmed driving Rt 66 from Chicago to Los Angeles.
I was tickled to see he did the original 66 route and went off the interstate highways and went to the people
and sights most people never see....ohh my kind of trip. He was in places I have been to and seen and things I have not.
I had to make myself shut it off to watch more tomorrow. This shows a whole new side of him and he's interesting to watch.
Watching him explore along the way was sort of nostalgic to me as I have been on that route many times during my life.
Thank you Mike for planting the thought to look things up to me. I have enjoyed what I have been watching.

My grandfather was born in Edinburgh and ran away from working in a bakery and joined the Blackwatch Regiment. He was a bandsman and then was transferred to China and eventually India where he worked in various duties.
After he was demobbed, he joined the Bengal Police where he rose to the rank of Deputy Superintend of the Bengal Police. He was awarded an M.B.E Medal for his duties in the police force. A very proud Scotsman and he had a lovely photo of himself in his Blackwatch Kilt. He was a typical Scots with red hair and moustache. My mother inherited his red hair as did my sister. He had his name in the local paper when he stopped an assassin who tried to shoot Mahatma Gandhi.

Billy is actually a friend of mine...no lie... I first met him when I was 18 years old and working on the Isle of Arran, and him and his band came to play a concert there which was little more thn a big Barn. The singer Gerry Rafferty..who had a later hit with Baker street was in the band at the time as well

After the concert, a few of us were invited by the band to come to the hotel lounge for a drink.. and we did... and Billy sang to me while playing guitar..

It was very innocent, nothing untoward went on.

In later years I worked as a researcher in TV & Film production, and met Billy often..on various chat shows ..

He lives now in the USA with his second wife Pamela.. and he has parkinson's so he rarely ever comes back to the uk these days
I always enjoy hearing about the musicians that have known!
