Ronald Reagan hanging out with his Bedtime for Bonzo co-star (1951) : r ...

The 80’s were very busy for me. I traveled a lot and even met and spoke with the President. I know that many people don’t think that’s a big deal, but being in the military, it is a big deal. President Reagan was very cordial and even entertaining with his somewhat corny jokes. He told us that he could write with both hands, but always uses the right. He also added that he learned to use his left hand in case he ever broke his right hand. I think it was meant to be a joke, but no one laughed.

He also told this story. ### There was an elderly couple and one night the lady told her husband she could go for some ice cream. He said OK, I will go get you some. She called him a dear. She said she also wanted chocolate sauce on top. He said OK. She told him to write it down or he would forget. He said he wouldn’t forget.

She said she also wanted whipped cream on it. He said OK. And again, she said please write it down or you will forget. He said he wouldn’t forget. She then added a cherry on top. He said OK. She said to please write it down or you will forget. He again said he wouldn’t forget. When he got back, she was in bed, but ge handed her the bag. She opened it and found a ham sandwich. She said, See, I told you that you would forget. Where’s the mustard?

This brings back such memories! (This whole thread does. I'm a devoted 80s buff.)

My friends and I gathered at a sleepover to watch MTV's World Premiere Video for Thriller. I remember what a big deal it was at the time.

I pulled up the original long version for my kids when they were about the same age. The ending, when Michael Jackson looks up at the camera with those freaky eyes, really startled them. 😁
