DD is flying to Paris and then taking a train to her university town, an hour away.

She wants to take 2 guitars, a suitcase, a carry on suitcase, and a backpack. The trouble is one person cannot carry all of that out of the airport.

She bought a $200+ tsa-proof case for one of her guitars. The case + guitar is very heavy. I offered to pay for a second tsa case so she could take the second guitar as well. These guitars and her music are very important to her. She is not bringing her third guitar, because it is the least expensive instrument.

It will cost a fortune to ship the guitars to Paris. The quote for shipping the area rug in her living room was $600, about what the rug cost.

Do they have wheeled luggage racks at the airport in Paris, or porters who help with luggage?

Thanks for your help!

yes they do have wheeled luggage racks in the Paris airports, no problem at all, and she can ask for help from a porter as well if necessary...however last time I was in Paris I had to use a Euro coin to release the wheeled luggage trolleys, so tell her to ensure she has some Euro coins handy.. i someone said it's now free at CDG airport.. but better to be safe than sorry... I don't know the situation at Orly, haven't been there for years.. but they do have luggage trolleys...

Have a look at this link

Two quitars, area rug...
Sigh😕
She decided against bringing the rug. The guitars were very expensive. That's why it is worth spending $400 on the cases -- to do everything she can to protect them from damage. The few things she is bringing are flying to France with her. I'm not sure she realizes that she will have to do this all over again when (and if) she returns the US. It will be worse. She will have "invested" in more stuff.
