You've got the chance to bury a box with any items whether personal or not to be found in the future by whoever inherits the earth after you , possibly hundreds or even thousands of years from now.

You have an opportunity to put just 5 items or less in the box..large or small...what would your choice be for the contents of your box?

A picture of me wearing my propeller beanie. ( Yes. I do have one ) A stone with two different sets of meaningless squiggles engraved on it. A note written in invisible ink that when heated reads "Just kidding". Our wedding rings, so they know that two people loved each other a long time ago.

Quite funny Undercock.:D.I've often thought of leaving something that looks like it should be interesting but in fact means absolutely nothing, and burying it in a box...just for the fun of it to get someone somewhere confused, but it wouldn't be any fun not being there to watch them trying to figure it out..

1. My address and telephone number in case they have time travel in the future and somebody wants to come back and give me some good info, like the winning lottery number for tomorrow.

2. A package of Twinkies. They should be just fine a thousand years from now and they might enjoy a snack.

3. A note for my great-great-great.......great-great-great-grandchild, apologizing for any bad genes he/she might have inherited.

4. A 2015 calendar with the day marked in red that I actually got in the right lane at the supermarket.

5. The keys to my 2003 Toyota Corolla. It might still be running by then.

(1) I think a CD of various music and songs dating back over the years,
(2) A DVD of our planet as it is now showing how we are living, including the less affluent people.
(3) A book/DVD of what animals are still in existence,
(4) Data showing how we have evolved over the years and what we have achieved.
(5) And then Data on how we have ruined our planet through war with each other hoping the future can learn by our mistakes.

I guess I am not optimistic enough to believe that though we've had little earth millions of years, it will survive 10's of thousands more years so I won't bury anything.

...but I would enjoy the chuckle while filling the box. :)

I think seeds are a good thing to put into the box, as who knows what genetically modified foods will be available in the future.

History books that would in the very far off future, prove to be comedy.
Music, as much as possible.
Art made by children
Recipes and images of the foods we ate.
A bread slicer

Thinking about the subject of the Big "C" that has taken the life of many of our friends, including hubbies best friend from Whyalla where we are going today ......... Think I would include the headlines in the newspaper announcing ...the celebration of the discovery ........"We have found cure for cancer" .....and other nasty diseases inflicting so many.

DNA from every plant and male & female animal (Sort of like Noah's ark)
All kinds of music
Every language known to man
A map of the Universe as we know it
A book of hilarious cartoons
