and was immortalised in a song by the Kinks about their relationship...

Waterloo Sunset.... in the lyrics which say '' Terry meets Julie Waterloo Station every Friday night''...

He starred in a 1965 movie that I wish I had, named "The Collector", with (then beautiful) Samantha Eggar; still living at age 86. He collected butterflies but decided he wanted more, and tried to add her to his "collection." Very suspenseful.

FROM IMBD - movie details
funny you should say about Samantha because I looked up Julie Christie , and she's also still alive at 85, looking great....

It never ends well when young women are kidnapped and held captive in basements until they die. Just like life.
That's true as well, but not sure if you're trying to make a point, or what it is. I have a movie collection of over 400 movies and would like to add "The Collector" to "my collection."

I usually have a mild interest in the death of actors, but I really liked Terrance Stamp. He had such a distinctive presence, mostly his voice. I first noticed him 60 years ago in some psychological horror film. I don't think the film was all that important, but he did capture my attention.

I like Terence Stamp most for his role as Sergeant Troy in the movie "Far from the Madding Crowd" (1967) with Julie Christie, Alan Bates and Peter Finch.

The TV series, Smallville, used Stamp as the voice of young superman's father when Clark Kent goes to his Fortress of Solitude to seek advice. There he's just an AI voice. But there is a disconnect when in a couple episodes Kent's actual father comes back in time and talks to Clark in person, but it's a different actor, who viewers must think, "How can that be Kent's father? His voice is all wrong," because no one sounds like Terrance Stamp.
