How are you today?

Good morning. Well, I hope it's a good morning for all of you. Not happening for me.

Watched 3 year old grandson last Tuesday, and DDIL let me know Thursday that he had a fever. By Friday I had a slight sore throat. Woke up at 3 AM today feeling lousy. Took a test and yup, Covid again. This is bout #4 for me. Dec 2020, March 2024 and August 2024. I seem to be more susceptible than most.

On a scale of 1-10 of being sick, I'm only at about a 4 or 5, but on the scale of annoyance at being sick, I'm at a solid 9. I had a very busy week scheduled from today through next Saturday.

When DH gets up I'll have him take a test. If it's negative, I'll be moving relocating to our guest bedroom and bathroom. He's only had Covid in Dec 2020, so he seems less susceptible than me.
Get better soon StarSong!

Oh no! Take good care...you must get enough rest. Hope DH escapes it; he needs to hold the fort too. Is baby very sick? Hope not.
His fever was gone by Saturday and he's fine now. They didn't test him until I shared my test results Sunday. His came up negative.

I misspoke in my earlier post. His fever started Wednesday, not Thursday. When we had him Tuesday he was in a good mood, but his appetite was noticeably reduced - even for treats he typically loves.

I'm back.

Garden watered.

DD and I made an Aldi run to get marked down meat since beef prices are already going outta sight. So far already up to $9/lb for hamburger most places. Chihuahua! I see a lot of chicken in our diet. Or maybe a lot of meatless meals. We're going to try to go back first thing Wednesday morning when there will probably be more marked down. Good thing I have room in the freezer in my fridge.

And then...I got a phishing call for my one and only credit card. Deliver me! My phone kept saying it was a SPAM call so I kept deleting it, but they kept calling me back. I told them never mind, I'd call the card issuer myself. Gee. Guess what? There's been no activity and no fraud reported. More Chihuahua!

Other than that? I'm fine today, just damn fine...fine as frog's hair! :) :). We're having wonderful fall-like temps. Gotta love it!

Well I'm feeling fine but my DH put his back out this morning. He’s in bad shape. He’s in bed right now trying to sleep the pain off. He had to ask for my help to lift some me stuff out of the fridge and up the stairs. We are canning cucumber relish. He even has serious pain sitting in his Lazy Boy chair. My poor man. There will be no walks for a while.

@Kadee - I thought you were wishing for rain. Now you’re cursing the rain. Lol 😂

@StarSong -,I know I wished you well in another thread but I wish you well again.
Having Covid sucks no matter what.

@Georgiagranny - I hope you get hired. You seem very level headed and capable.

It’s not the rain I’m grizzling about 😃it’s the cold wind …...it’s been cold since very early April @PeppermintPatty

I had a bit of lie in this morning didn’t get up till 8 am ..normally up around 7 am … intend going food shopping latter ..it’s not that ~ we haven’t got food just want / need fresh foods , I like fresh veggies in the fridge as well as frozen veggies

Spent a fair bit of time in my sewing room yesterday testing out a sewing machine I was given
a 1975 Husqvarna ( I wanted one to sew small shade cloth wind protection for my garden )
Husqvarna machines are known for being able to sew tough fabrics including leather .
I didn’t want to use my good machine for sewing garden stuff

The machine I was given wasn’t working due to front turning knobs being stiff due to lack of use , so my hubs took of panels of machine and fixed it ,its sewing like a dream now …it had grease in it that looked more like treacle due to age of the machine .

After that I took up a skirt to wear to an upcoming ball ( at the waist ) no one wears anything long or to fancy to balls now days ….

Of course you know I’m just teasing you.
That’s a beautiful skirt Kadee. You are always doing something. Staying active is the key to not seizing up.

This is the machine I was given , that hubs fixed , it was actually Husqvarna first embroidery machine ..it has cams you insert in the back and it sews fairly small fancy stitches , that are shown on the front of the machine ..in addition to straight sewing 🧵..

Sorry to hear your Hubs has hurt himself @PeppermintPatty not good …

Your man sure is a keeper. What a nice thing to do. It’s a great brand. You know, I’ve got an embroidery machine that makes all those fancy stitches and I love it. Years ago I used to make fleece dog coats for winter .
You’re going to have so much fun with that ‘new to you’ sewing machine. We have so many things in common. We have a lot of similar hobbies etc…

Thanks RadishRose! He hopes he heals up quickly too. He’s says he’s got too much to do to be sedate for too long.
My husband wants to know who RadishRose is. Lol 😂 I told him that you’re a nice older lady who is nice to everyone. 🤗🥰
I’ve known @RadishRose for a long time prob getting onto 11 years … @PeppermintPatty so I agree :)
If ya need a hug 🤗 and I’m not here RR will fill in for me :ROFLMAO:

Oh, hello all of you. I'm back from a duration of hell while our son visited. I'll have to look back to see how all of you are or were doing. I don't know if I'm allowed to swear on here, but I feel like shit for saying this. Our 27-year-old son (for which most of you know his disability) is just a complete hellion and unfortunately, we can't keep up with him much anymore. He was a handload or worse when he was young, but I believe he's getting much worse at the age of 27.

We ordinarily keep all doors (dead bolted) and things (like our wallets) locked up upon his visits. This time I allowed him to go potty w/o my assistance, and he used 1/2 of a roll of toilet paper clogging up the toilet. My mistake as I didn't watch him going to the bathroom at the time. He asked, "Wash hands mommy?" I said sure honey once again w/o assistance and sure enough he dumped all of the handwash down the drain. That's just a couple of examples.

The last thing? Dad drove him home to his so called safe 1:1 environment 24/7 and please trust they're not a safe environment. That's just a completely different story when it comes to his safety and I just can't stop losing my breath while he's there. Anyway, dad drove him to his other home and that very evening our dog vomited. What did he vomit? A least 1-1/2 foot of string. Yes. Our son got hold of my cooking string and I guess he fed it to our dog somehow. I really don't know how he got the string but once again, my mistake as I didn't catch that instance as well.

That's just a part of our story while he came to our home this past visit. I feel like an awful mother, but I truly believe he can't spend more than 24 hours here anymore. We love him but we're so, so, so very tired in regard to not keeping up with his sneaky and mischievous actions anymore. Thank you all for the read. I truly missed you and I'm so sorry for airing like I did. I'm just so very tired. I truly hope all of you are doing well this day. Once again, I'm sorry.

I fully understand @Paulina i worked for 25 years with people with disabilities and very challenging clients as they are referred to …and yes …as part of my training to ~ up my qualifications I had to do 200 hours in a group home setting with 5 clients …..I can tell you , some practices I seen ~ would make any caring persons …BP go overboard.:cry:

The food the residents are fed were nothing short of pig food …..most of the foods were vitamised cheap nasty ingredients o_O the majority were pasta or rice based foods

Ooh, sorry about your DH. When that happens to my husband's back it takes a long time to heal.
Cucumber relish. That sounds good!

That's pretty, very fancy!
Someone gave me a sewing machine that didn't work well. DH kept it going and I used it until it didn't have much left. When I finally bought a new one it was like a dream! 🙂
