Living the Dream
No chest pain Fritz. Body gets warm and gets a little hard to breathe. Only last 10 or 15 seconds. What kind of discomfort? Like chest pain?

I like the way those apartment blocks are laid out..not cheek by jowl as they are here in the UKIt’s been a busy week for us. Got our car licenses and insurance up to date. We are now New Yorkers again. We do miss Florida but at our age we need to be near family.
Back to car inspections again. Florida had none. When I worked part-time in a Sears garage, inspections were $3. Now..$21. Everything was fine except I need
to replace battery before the cold weather sets in.
Aug. 23rd, all the apartments are getting together to celebrate summers end. Big bash I’m told. There are 6 huge apartment complexes in our area.
Going up to Dollar General to pick up a few things we need. We will have to start buying winter clothes and boots soon. We have no heavy clothing at all.
Ours is the one with the woods behind us marked with red arrow. The party will be in this area.

You two kids gonna need a chaperone for that big bash?Aug. 23rd, all the apartments are getting together to celebrate summers end. Big bash I’m told. There are 6 huge apartment complexes in our area.
Hopefully Kate, my ginger ale won’t give me a hangover..You two kids gonna need a chaperone for that big bash?Sounds like fun, Pappy!
I know Kat. Had a mild cold two weeks ago. Plus my blood thinners don’t help.Oh yeah, you better stock up on those heavy clothes. Especially as you are transitioning from being a southern to a NYer again. The first year I moved back to NY from FL I was sick with colds before summer was even over.
I am jealous of your parking lot! Even with the big puddle. You don't want to see what our parking lot looks like. Huge potholes that make it dangerous when trying to walk out there. Good luck with the new manager. We are supposed to be getting a new one too. Seems those jobs are hard to fill and keep a manager for longer than a year.My daughter stopped in last night and brought us some sweet corn, apple cider donuts and a huge hot house tomato. God, I love this girl…
For lunch we had that delicious tomato cut up along with a green salad. Oh, and a cider donut. Tonight, we will have the sweet corn and store bought Mac and cheese.
College football is back and I am watching Iowa State and Kansas State. I will be hooked now until the season ends. My two favorite team's are the Florida Gators and Syracuse Orange. Go teams.
We are getting a new complex manager for our apartments. The old manager wouldn’t answer any of my emails so I hope this one will. I had asked if something could be done to fix this rain problem where we are assigned to park. I’ve enclosed a photo to show the problem. I sent this to our old manager also.

How was the party?Aug. 23rd, all the apartments are getting together to celebrate summers end. Big bash I’m told. There are 6 huge apartment complexes in our area.
I have the wrong date Aunt Bea. It’s next week. We’ve been here 4 months now and everyone I’ve met seems friendly enough. Quite a few widows live here alone and love to talk. That’s ok cause I’m a good listener. How was the party?
I think it’s interesting that someone is willing to manage such a large event for the residents.
The complex where I live has a little over 200 apartments and the management does everything they can to discourage tenants from mingling and sharing their experiences with life here.
They have tried to do that here and we are small, only 32 apartments I think. But we do our own thing regardless of the management. How was the party?

The property managers where I live don’t respond to emails or return phone calls either.Thelma and I just back from CVS after getting our flu shots. Of course I had to stop and get my wife her fix, she loves DD coffee. Personally, I can take it or leave it. Sometimes I get a small senior coffee. I can’t justify 3 or 4 dollars for a coffee but a happy wife is a happy life.
Not much else going on today. Tomorrow we may take a ride up to Meadowbrook Farms and get some sweet corn, tomatoes, apple cider donuts and check out all their jams and jellies. It’s about a 20 minute drive from here and out in some pretty country.
We are getting a new manager for all our buildings. Curious to see how she does. I had emailed the old manager twice and never got an answer to my questions. Hope this one shows more interest in her job.
Time will tell…..Pappy
Thanks Aunt Bea. Will give her a chance to see what happens as it is a big responsibility for her. We have a bring a plate dinner Sept. 20th and all VIPs are suppose to be there. The property managers where I live don’t respond to emails or return phone calls either.
They don’t seem to understand that hiding from the tenants just takes more time to deal with a simple problem and encourages turnover out of frustration.
You may have to go to the office for a face to face!
Good luck and enjoy your little adventure in the country.
hey you could be my Dad....Hard to believe but my oldest son is 68 years old tomorrow. Where on earth did the time go? DaveJr. Spent 20 years in the US Army and went to work for the post office. I’m sure he has an excellent pension as he is enjoying his retirement camping and building his own guitars from kits. We only get to see him and Nina once every 2-3 years as they live in the state of Washington. Maybe this might be the year they will visit. I hope so.
Pickup groceries tomorrow afternoon and will stop at Mickey Ds for a fish sandwich and fries.
Learning my way around here in Poughkeepsie but rely on Google Maps quite a lot.
Maybe your grandfather.hey you could be my Dad....![]()
not quite Pappy, I've just turned 70 you wouldn't want to be the grandfather of a 70 year old now, would you ?Maybe your grandfather.![]()
