How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2025....

Last night was like the days that we enjoyed, pre-covid. My lady and I were on the dance floor for a few slower dances, Simon Lane sang songs from the period that we so enjoy and we came home a happy couple, we even shared a hot bath, washing the sweat off. It was wonderful.

Today I have an appointment for a hearing test at Dorset Audiology. I'm not looking forward to that, one little bit. Later I shall be cooking cottage pie for tonight's meal, but right now I need to shower and shave and get myself going.

Afternoon peeps of SF...... its just after 12 noon...

It's been raining this morning.. which wasn't predicted... but its stopped now and the sun is out.🌞🌞

Another day with a front seat in court this afternoon for me...rivetting case....

Have a super day folks....🌺🌺
Probably a rain band from Erin and now Fernand is headed your way.

I was up shortly after 6 a.m. this morning. !!
Thought I could hear something running in Hubby's big garage.
Didn't hear it down here,,,,, darn ringing ears.

Had a quiet breakfast, letting a tea bag seep,,, then get on with today.

Did I mention that hubby took my safe to a person who 'cut' it open?
Now I no long have a safe to keep family records in .
Have those to sort as hubby looked at Everything that was in the safe .

And find them a 'new place ', put the closet back together, shoes , etc.

Hope you all have a great day.

SF..what happened ?..why did he have to get someone to cut the safe open.. ?

Right now, it is in the mid 50sF here, but will climb into the low 70s later. Sunny and lovely, but looking ahead, it appears we are in for a rather hot September. Also, it is hurricane season, so who knows what we'll encounter?

I'll take these lovely days. Also, we are going shortly to start looking at getting a rescue dog. These are my favorites since they seem so grateful to have a real home at last. My Marley was a rescue and the dream dog of the universe.

I'm up, and having my cuppa....I'm planning on actually waking up, in the near future. 💤💤💤

This morning I'm going to my Mom's house to meet with her handyman. He has finished rebuilding the retaining wall, and had been taking care of other things on the "to do". I need to see how things are going, and find out if he wants a payment. 💸

I need to get that done early so that I can take my Mom to her doctor's appointment. And, of course, there are other places she wants to go to, while we are in town.

Somewhere during the day, I also need to take care of my Mom's paperwork, bills, banking, etc. 🙄 It's going to be a busy day!

@Lewkat -that's wonderful news! I can hardly wait to hear about the "fur baby" who adopts you!!!! 💕. Best wishes for your new family member!

Good morning, everyone. A nice sunny morning and not too hot for our area.

I posted on the close encounter for an accident yesterday and wouldn't you know it happened to me yesterday. The five o'clock traffic was steady on the road with people getting off work. It is two lanes and I was coming back from a store.

I was going along at a slower speed than posted when all of a sudden the truck in front of me was stopped because of the backup of traffic. I saw that he had stopped too late and had to slam on my brakes. My tires even screeched. If I had hit the truck, it would have been bad for me and my car.

All was well but it sure shook me up. I will now watch more carefully for a sudden stop. I always leave room behind the car in front of me but this was so sudden and around a curve.

That was my excitement for the day.

You all have a great day today. :)

Going to brunch with my neighbor.
Then hopefully, finally, pray to heaven afterwards when I take my car to the shop (again)
the shop will tell me they can FIX my windshield washer reservoir since they can't seem to find a replacement anywhere. I need it fixed before rainy season comes so I can wash off the muddy spray from the semi's on the interstate off my windshield while driving.
I can't keep pulling over and use spray cleaner and a rag.

Good luck finding a dog, @Lewkat! I agree that rescue dogs are wonderful. My kids and I adopted one from the local shelter, and it was the best decision we ever made. He lives with my younger daughter now because my place is so small. A few years later she adopted another dog—a Pomeranian, like the first one. It's been wonderful to see him adapt.

When she first got him, he would bark angrily at any woman who wasn't my younger daughter. He would tolerate only her. She'd come to my place and hold him on her lap and he'd stare suspiciously at me, or my older daughter. We assumed he must have had bad experiences with women, perhaps women with long brunette hair in particular, as all three of us do?

At any rate, after years of her loving care, and good experiences with others, he has relaxed into the sweet affectionate dog he must have been to begin with. It's been lovely to see.

For minor skin irritations like an itch I use Neosporin with pain relief or the Equate equivalent.

Well I've use every type of cream both otc and prescription and
this is still driving me crazy....just now I put one of those big
pain patches on my wrist, will see if it helps....just don't know
what the hecll is causing this, no rash, no bite marks nothin....

hawkie have you tried using OTC Hayfever meds like Cetirizine ?.. I find they work really well for itchy skin

Been to church, Walmart and the library this AM. Now sitting outside after lunch, sipping tea and catching up with y’all

While at the library, I checked into dates for their reading clubs— one, everyone reads the same book and discusses it, the other you bring a book you have read and share what you thought of it.

Also, I’ve seen previously a Chess Club advertised but it wasn’t in September’s calendar. I hope it’s still going, I’d enjoy re-learning chess. The librarian assured me she would check with the director about it. I need some intellectual stimulation

Finished moving and hooking up the electrical line away from the house and close to the new garden spot. ( this fixture will have a flood light on one half, and a grow light on the other).
Took down part of the compost bin and re-using the parts for the new raised garden.
Finished the back wall of what's to be the new garden spot.
Have to get it done as the wife now has 12 new tomato plants started. :)
Power company is coming to remove about 8 tree's that are bending outward toward the power lines. That will save me some bucks as we were going to have them removed to allow more winter sun on the garden area.

Another lovely day here, low 80s and sunny. I'm really enjoying the weather and trying not to dread the start of North Dakota's 6-month freezing winter.

I had a spur-of-the-moment coffee with an old friend this morning. It was so great to catch up!

And, even better, I heard back from my younger daughter after I texted her some Happy Birthday wishes and checked to make sure her gift had arrived OK. Whew! I was worried I'd destroyed my relationship with her like I destroyed the one with my son. I came this close <holding index finger and thumb about 1 mm apart> to destroying it for good on August 14.

I won't blow this chance. Not as long as I stay sober. And the reason I got together with my friend for coffee is that I was handing off to her the rest of the unopened alcohol I had on hand. I poured the open bottles down the drain.
