Interesting. If it was, it worked.

I’ve got to admit thinking about their food gave me a craving for chicken fried steak and gravy, which is something I’d never think of having.
 
Now they need to bring back the soup, salad, sandwich (any) combos.
Recently I had a limited special with a half chicken, red potatoes, and corn on the cob roasted in foil. Keep that!

Has CB replaced the CEO?

No, Cracker Barrel has not replaced its CEO, Julie Felss Masino, despite calls for her resignation following the backlash over the logo change.
The company has decided to revert to its old logo but has not indicated any leadership changes.
 
I think they may have learned a lesson from Budweiser not to listen to their customers. Don’t wait hoping the climate will change because it won’t. When customers make up their mind as to what they like and don’t like, it’s best to listen to the customer.

Did Cracker Barrel also change back the inside of their stores/restaurants?
 
What they had better change back, is the quality of food they serve.

DH and I ate there before he became too sick to go anywhere. We ate different meals and they both sucked. Not - worth - the - money.

Annnd, the aisles were so full of junk, people had to turn sideways to pass each other.

HUGE disappointment.

I haven’t seen details on that yet. I think I read that the majority had not yet been redecorated. I don't know if that dark grey is a legacy outdoor and indoor color, and am not getting reliable answers from Google and Ai. Personally, I think it could be lightened up with some colors that still represent a country theme.

I also saw that CB removed their LGBTQ+ website homepage. I didn’t check, so I can’t confirm that.

One of the original founders, who is now 92 y/o, was interviewed on the Internet and he thrashed the new CEO pretty good for removing
Uncle Herschel from the original logo. He said she didn’t understand why or what the logo stood for, which told him she had no knowledge of the corporate’s mission for being established. He also stated that she should have stayed at Taco Bell.
 
Not sure why the new CEO should resign, based on this issue. The company has lost significant foot traffic and the revenue is stagnating and not keeping up with inflation, which supports the lagging foot traffic. Clearly something had to be done and while the latest actions might not be correct... changes of some type are necessary.

The issues mentioned above are not unique to Cracker Barrel, but are an industry wide problem, imho. While the retail reports seem to indicate a recovery to pre covid levels on a dollar basis... those numbers are not adjusted for inflation, which is rather important, unless you think they are immune to inflation.

I have not seen any studies or reports, regarding the impact of an increased tipping culture... on foot traffic.
