Single serve of fried chips too large to consume

I am holidaying in Busselton. Opposite is a Fish and Chip shop.
I was a little peckish so ordered a minimum serving of chips.
$3 worth.
I was able to eat about a 1/4 of the serving. Would have been at least a kilo in weight. 2.2 pounds.
Crazy amount for $3, especially when compared to a small serve at a sports match which comes in a very small upright cardboard container for $5

There goes @Bretrick with his fried chips....

I've never had that problem. Normal people do, but not me.

The first meal my future wife made for me, to the chorus of "Oh, you're a lucky boy" from her friends , was a chicken dinner. She later told me that she thought there would be 2 maybe 3 days of left overs...um, there were none. Ooops.

Come to the US... fast food restaurants will give you about 2.5 oz. of fries for about $1.90.
Fair pricing doesn't seem to be their concern.

I've been in eating establishments and walk by tables where no one is sitting and see plates piled with food. It's like they took a bite and got up and left. I was at a soft ice cream stand a few years ago and saw a woman dump her whole tray of food into the trash bin. What a waste! If people aren't hungry, why stop for food?
