How are you today?

I’m feeling smoked out. We thought we’d made it through the fire season relatively unscathed. Heavy, smokey skies today. Told not to walk outdoors - I did - because I had some errands to do. As long as the fires keep their distance and don’t endanger people and homes, it’ll be ok.
Where do you live?

Well took a shower without falling LOL....but then start to use
the telephone (yes landline) and it is completely shut down, no
buzz of any kind, so put in work order and no tech till monday...
Only prob I have lifeline fall unit and it won't work with out the
working phone line...!!!another friday what the heck!!

Weather this morning is lovely but, my cold is not 🤧 I took a Covid test which read negative so, hopefully it won't last long. In the meantime, there is plenty of ice cream in the freezer.

Today I plan to just potter around, eat ice cream and let the chap take care of things.

Have a good day everyone :)

Good morning, friends. I didn't get done with my morning chores and stuff until a few minutes ago.

Gardening was delayed a bit because DD offered to take me by the garden center after she did some banking. As if I'd say no? Anyway, there was absolutely nothing there that even tried to jump into the cart, not even in the Clarence section. It wasn't a wasted trip, though, because I learned that there was nothing with my name on it, and I didn't spend any money.

The weatherliars are promising rain. Again. I swear those people lie like mattresses. We've been promised rain every. single. day. for days on end. It heads this way, splits and goes north and south of us and rains on everybody else.

Raked a whole lotta leaves and deadheaded a whole lotta flowers. And now I'm tired.

Not too bad today. Housework done, reset the date to go to the Ren Fest with my neighbor.
The weekend I wanted to go they changed it to Dog Days uugh. I love dogs but not what I go
to Ren Fest for. Going on "Shamrocks and Shenanigans" instead, weather permitting.
Hubby informed me a bit jittery that we are down to ONE of his frozen Pizza favs. He's so
funny when he's like that, all the world problems and only one pizza in freezer is what he's worried about.
I'll take care of that tomorrow, no biggie.

Good morning, Peeps! Feeling virtuous because I just started a load of laundry. I'm also multi-tasking right now: composing this post while setting up a Walmart pickup order. So feeling pretty good about that, too.

(Yes, I enthusiastically take advantage of any and all opportunities to pump up my self-esteem.)

Make it a great day, Peeps! And remember, you control your opinion of yourself. ❤️

Beautiful sunny day here and just found this site so life is good. Hope everyone else is having a wonderful day.

Today I puttered around the place, straightening and putting away things. I have been spinning on the wheel for a few days and finished an excellent bobbin of off white Icelandic wool. It is fine and soft and a bit of it loves my black cotton cat shirt. I am spinning this wool for a project--a white cable knit winter hat and a pair of mitts to go along.

Hope y'all are good.

"They" lied again. The clouds rolled in. The wind blew. We got a couple of little spits of rain but not enough to water anything or even wet the pavers on the teeny, tiny patio . And then it moved along about a mile and poured there like it has done for weeks. The lawn is brown and getting crunchy.

I promise I'm coming back in my next life as a meteorologist and make big bucks to get it wrong.

It did cool off from high 80s to a lovely 72, so that makes me happy. Therefore, I'm fine this afternoon:).

Thank You for the nice welcome.
There is a thread for introductions; click-> here if you would like to introduce yourself to the group, then click where it says "Post Thread". But that's optional. I only mention it because when I joined, I didn't know about it, and just started posting here and there - and that's okay too - whatever you decide. Anyway, I hope you enjoy Senior Forums.

It's a lovely sunny and cool morning. My chores are mostly done, and I'm just as happy as a clam today.

Happy as a clam? How happy are clams? I gotta Google that.

Okay, according to Google (AI):

The phrase "as happy as a clam" is a shortened version of the 19th-century expression "happy as a clam at high water". The origin lies in the safety and security clams feel at high tide, when the water protects them from predators like humans and birds who would dig them up at low tide. The idiom originated in the Northeastern United States around the 1830s and became widely known by the 1840s.
