How are you today?

Hello! Sorry I have missed so many posts, I have had a busy time :)

I had a really nice afternoon visiting a friend and it was good to see that she is getting better.

This morning started off sunny and then the rain came ... again! I got caught in the rain twice yesterday :(

I have got a lot done this morning and now everything is tidy and I am waiting for a text to tell me that my parcel is ready for collection. There were a couple of things I really liked but expensive and I didn't need them. The other day, I looked in the sale and some of the things I wanted are now less than a third of the original price so I ordered them, including a lovely jumper for mum. Patience is a virtue :D

Do you remember the saying "Patience is a virtue, Virtue is a grace, Grace is a little girl who would not wash her face"?

As Trish wrote, I'm so sorry to not keep up with all of you for a while. I mentioned this when I first joined almost a year ago. My son is literally killing me with his Autistic/sneaky/dangerous ways.

Just a few days ago he cut the live wire on the living room TV in his care home. I'm wondering who gave him scissors in the first-place w/o watching him as his care home is supposed to do so. He could have been electrocuted or start a fire.

I'm just so, so very tired of non-professional caregivers. My husband, his father doesn't see anything the same way I do. Nothing like a mother/child bond. I just can't explain that enough. I wish you a great day tomorrow and many thanks for listening. Love, Debbie Downer

Yep …I could relate to many so ~ called care givers :cry:……. in my 25 years of working with people with disabilities @Paulina

I’m going to be missing for up to a week …..my iPad keeps freezing and I’ve did all thats recommend to stop the issue including deleting heaps of photos …I had it over 10.000 photos on the iPad ….ive completely deleted 3.200 :)photos taken with a tiny ~ one of the first digital cameras, ( was bought in 2004 ) it’s a Sony from memory …cost $700 at the time ….OMG we could get a much larger capacity one now days ….for likely half that price

We traveled / lived in a caravan for 2 years, after selling our home in the city ( suburbs )

Tomorrow ( Thursday ) we are off to the city for a doctors appointment, then to a social morning of ballroom dance 💃where we will likely do most of the dances ,as a practice for the up coming ball this Saturday night .

after that ~ I will drop off my iPad at Apple shop right in the city centre ( only one we have ) and hopefully pick it up in a week …I’ve got a phone but it’s to fiddly to play games / chat on

So hopefully I’ll see ya all in a week

is not as if I will be bored 🥱 cause I’m prepping areas to plant my spring veggies / flowers In my raised garden beds ~ I like the fact~ especially so in warmer months …I can get meat out of freezer for a meal …and go out and pick the salad ~ out of my small garden 🪴

I’ve always got my newish laptop , I’ve got to lve got to put a bit more effort/ time into learning the modern system
with hubbies help ….its windows 11…where I’ve been so used to just using my iPad ( I’ve had and used iPad since they were released )

its not a great deal different to my very old LT that’s still going ok but its still on the very very old system due to my sewing machine embroidery programs

I’ve started moving most of my older photos to the laptop …and putting them into different folders …

@Paulina Thank goodness your son did not cause any harm to himself or others in the care home. Such a worry for you though. I hope you can relax today and perhaps do something nice for yourself. 🤗

@Kadee Hope you have a good week offline. :)

@OneEyedDiva Good to read that you are feeling better. :)

It has rained all morning and, apparently, it will rain all day, thunderstorms later. Fortunately, I do not have to venture anywhere so, I plan to get on my spin bike soon, then get some chores done and, later this afternoon, I might start a new sewing project. If the rain stops later, I might take a quick walk to the shops but, if not, it will be a stay at home day.

Have a good day everyone - can you believe it's Wednesday already!!!;)

Hey Kadee,
See you in a week or so. Hopefully they will fix whatever’s going on with your laptop. We will miss you.

Yesterday we got our trailer registered for another 2 years so my husband can pick up another ton of fresh compost from the local garbage dump.

Good morning!

@Mizmo C'mon over. The blueberry scones are ready. Hurry up, though, before the crew eats them all.

Off to water the garden. To those of you getting lots of rain, please send some this way.
Good Morning
Can you deliver 6 to coffee shop at10a.m...yum. Please and thank you

Seriously though GG I really wish I could have them. I am so tired of cookies and such with my coffee.
I need to have groceries delivered now and none of the large supermarkets sell scones of any kind.
Small bakeries do have some but they don't deliver.
Have a good day:D

Good morning, all!

Had a great day yesterday. DH, 3-1/2 year old GS and I took an Amtrak train an hour up the coast, got off, had lunch and let him loose for a while in a small playground, then picked up a return train and came home. It was his first ride in a real train and he LOVED it. We enjoy trains, too, so are delighted at the prospect of doing this with him every few months... so special.

Los Angeles intercity and intracity travel/commuting is car rather than train or subway based like NY, Chicago and many international cities. Yes, we have subways and trains, but the city is so spread out that train travel is mostly impractical.
