Am actively resisting going to the animal control and viewing a dog I spy online. I do not need the commitment to a dog right now…but they are great for the soul in troubled times.
this is why I cannot under any circumstances look at dog pounds, or boarding kennels where they have dogs for adoption, because I would take as many as they would let me... and then I'd regret it after...

They sure are. Our rescue, Bear, was such a comfort to me during my darkest time. I spent the entire month of July 2019 in bed, crying, and Bear just cuddled up against the back of my knees the whole time. I'll never forget that.

Tai Chi this morning in the park. This will be my 4th session in 4 days! Class with my teacher Monday and Tuesday. The class I run in the park yesterday and same again today. This weekend I will mostly be doing NOT MUCH! 🤣 ☯️

Good morning.

@Babs2u Northlake is too far...I'm on the other side of the city. But $4.99? They've been selling for $2.49 in other stores. Hmm. $4.99 is still a good price, though. DD will be home tomorrow because she's picking up a six-drawer dresser with mirror from the Buy Nothing group. After that, we'll probably go to Aldi just to check on mums and for me to get another pair of the Ladies Loungewear (with pockets!).

DGD's surgery went well. Doc told DD that the recovery is going to be long and difficult, complicated by her fibromyalgia and non-sero RA. It's gonna be a long 3-6 months here :(.

Good morning. Today is getting off to a more relaxing start than yesterday, when my building's fire alarm system started blaring at 6:00 am and continued for 20 minutes until the fire department arrived. It had gone off at midday the day before as well, so I assume there is some sort of glitch.

My mom died 20 years ago today, so it's a bit of a sad anniversary. It was very sudden, and I had to race to get to Florida from Nevada. Lotta unhappy memories, but I'm trying to stay positive. I'm meeting friends for coffee in a couple of hours, and my workload is light. I have $15 in CVS Extra Bucks, so I'm going to treat myself to something after coffee.

It's going to be quite warm here today, up to 85 (~29 C). That's quite unusual for this area at this time of year. Then we're supposed to have three full days of rain, so I am going to try get a walk in.

I hope everyone has a great day. 🌞

Afternoon Peeps of SF.... 🌺 🌺

Delivery of 2 new knee length Cardigans today ready for winter... one cream, the other green

I'm writing out new account journals by longhand... it's taking ages to do .. and it's tedious, but once it's done they'll be good for 2 years....

@KSav .. what a co-indience.. my mum died on the 13th of September... she'll be gone 52 years tomorrow she died at around 5am..I never forget the anniversary... I was just 18 when she passed... may they both (((R.I.P)))🌹🌹

BTW would you find this annoying ? ..I got an appt to see the surgeon at the hospital for an ongoing condition... 2 years ago in June.. one day before, they cancelled it by text and gave me another for December of that year... then they cancelled that one and gave me another for the following June...then they cancelled that and gave me another for Decemeber 2024, then they cancelled that and gave me one for June of this year , then they cancelled that and gave me another for December 2025.. now they've sent me a letter cancelling that one.... for a different date in december 😡

Time to take action @hollydolly .. is there an ombudsman, or someone you could get to address this situation for you?
You know I was just sitting here thinking about that Pinks...I'm going to have to try and find out today, because this is beyond any kind of excuses. They do it to get around the laws regarding the maximum length patients wait on the waiting lists.. no more than 6 months for certain conditions... so they make these appts then cancel them, and remake them etc...to get around the law!

Not a thing planned so that = stir crazy for me.
Guess I can consider copying photos I have only one of to the stacks
for the other 2 sons. Maybe contacting my niece for her address to send her pics
of her side of the family I have, get those out of the pile. Yeah, sounds like a plan.
Onto next one, who will it be and what'cha doing today?

For some reason, I thought you had health/immunity problems. Good that your immune system is fine. Hopefully you will start to feel better soon. :)
Have mentioned herein, that as a senior, I developed a rare bone blood neoplasm, polycythemia vera, that has the opposite effect on red blood cells versus leukemia, with too many red blood cells causing dense blood. Nothing to do with immune systems. Note outside of a rare bout of influenza in September 2023 followed in October 2023 with a case of COVID-19, I haven't come down with a single head cold since retiring in 2017 that says much for my immune system.

The polycythemia vera is being successfully treated with rather benign, hydroxy urea, so I could still live for 20 or 30 years. Over time, if left untreated, it can change into leukemia. My beloved mother at age 85 in an era before it was easily diagnosed, died from acute myeloid leukemia (AML), that could have started as polycythemia vera.

There are numbers of such old age genetic disorders medical science is becoming aware of that years ago were simply categorized as dying of old age. I'd be dead and gone now were it not for modern medical science, so am thankful to be alive today.

@hollydolly

A person's condition could become extremely serious, not to mention the most extreme outcome - death.
I hope you are able to get results.
