what did I miss?.. when did you write off your car?..what happened ?
A week last Tuesday I was talking to my Tai Chi teacher after class when two of the ladies ran back inside with the news that someone had reversed into my car. Turns out 'little old lady' had somehow smashed the front of my car! How on earth she did so much damage I'll never know!

It didn't look like a write-off until the repair garage my Insurance company use gave them the damage report. Estimated speed of collision 15-20mph! Chassis bent, bonnet (that's hood to most of you) bent including its mounting points to the chassis - and a host of other things broken and bent. Uneconomical to repair. I had a hire car two day's after the crash and nothing to pay as it wasn't my fault.

I'm taking the opportunity to upgrade to a newer version of the same car as the money they are giving me is a lot more than the part exchange I'd have got. You can't beat good insurance and this company 'LV=' have been brilliant now and in the past!

Left: I showed my second wife several pieces of land to build a house. She always said, "That's fine." Then I saw a two-line ad in the newspaper that intrigued me. So, I showed her 2 1/2 acres of total wilderness with a little creek running through it. Looking around, I lost her. I called and was running around in panic. Finally I saw her sitting on this rock and daydreaming aloud, "if we had a pond here with some ducks." I made a phone call, agreed on a $18K price, and two months later the escrow closed. This little "monument" is a reminder why we live here.

Right: My wife finally got "her" new gas range installed. Stepping back in time: We designed the house ourselves. The building contractor we hired had a graduate architectural student from Cal Poly University drawing up the proper building plans, and so we got the house we wanted. However, we made the mistake of designing the kitchen as being too narrow. If we had hired a proper architect, he would have corrected us.

Otto on the left has terminal cancer, and Ross on the right has a tumor in his mouth that increasingly prevents him from eating. An expensive surgery didn't help. Only Heidi in between is in a perfect shape. In the center under the gazebo? is our pet cemetery with a dozen dogs.

I noticed many times that my dogs, when resting, are looking in different areas to protect the pack. They are adopted from different shelters.

www.24petconnect.com has no suitable Boxer replacement listed at this time. But for walking and hiking I do need dogs to protect me. I am now focusing on Belgian Malinois pups. They are closely related to German Shepherds, and several young boys are available for adoption for free.

Left: My son-in-law helped me with some concrete work to stabilize the fence where the creek leaves our property. Now I have to water it to keep it drying slowly. Right: I love our little town where chickens gone awol roam the area. My next door neighbors also have goats, horses, and sheep.

After a day off returned to hunting this am. Wind was a gentle 0-5mph, nw, temps 46°F. I thought it was going to be another active couple hours. There was a calf calling from the bedding area as soon as I climbed the tree at daylight or 7am. It persisted for 20 mins or so and then all was quiet for almost 2 hours when a bull bugled on the east bank of the river in response to my cow calling. I bugled a couple times and he responded twice, but he prob had a harem(group of cows, etc) w him and he didn't want to risk a needless interaction as he's passing through to the north. Never did seem him, perhaps on another day.

Back at it tomorrow!

it's funny that..not the damage to your vehicle... but your thoughts that LV are a good isurance company.

In fact they're a bunch of cowboys almost criminal tbh...

My husband's Ferrari was reversed into by a female insured by LV... and my husband in the end had to take them to the high court to get them to pay out due to their client's inability to drive and smashed into the front of his car .

It was a horrendously difficult time wth a lot of money involved, but there was clear evidence their client had reversed into my husband... yet they dug their heels in... eventually after a whole year, the High court forced them to pay.. and if you were to look on reviews of LV you'd find hundreds of stories of the same

Whereas...when my insurance company claimed against... the insurance of the woman who wrote MY car off in July... while I was in it and driving.. her company paid up immediately.. even tho' she denied responsibility....

Yours was a second hand Honda wasn't it?.. are you getting another used car ?

I replaced mine with a 2021 KIA which has the 7 year Kia warranty still in existence

I went to the supermarket this morning. I also sorted laundry (again). Due to the boil water alert going on a month ago, then not feeling well for a few days (intermittently), I got behind in doing laundry again. So even after doing a double load yesterday, I still have three more. I thought I'd be helping my son move the dryer, put the knee high on it (to catch lint) and clean under it, but thank God, he did it by himself! He also mopped. :D
This evening, I got ready and went to HS#3's studio for his broadcast. He let me hear a new track he just composed. His musical growth. evident with each new track, continues to amaze me. The new track, which he is dedicating to me, made me feel so good. I told him I can hear that being played on a Smooth Jazz station.

After I got home, I didn't have to cook or try to figure out what to have for dinner (a common issue for me). My son had gone to a local restaurant and picked up dinner for us before I went to the studio. The platters for HS#3 and me were just rice and vegetables. My son got his with salmon. Even after tonight, I have enough for 3 more meals. I will freeze two portions and have them with my crab cakes or Gorton's fish fillets that I have in the freezer.

Lying on my couch with the fan running (my "comfort" habit).

Spooky is on the floor, she was chasing the laser pointer earlier. Lol
I'm trying to navigate a dating site, hookup site, whatever it is. Funny how these sites there's a lovely lady 0.4 miles from me. I'm sure those are a ruse as I don't have a neighbor closer than 1/8 mile. Having leftover pizza, Coca Cola, going to listen to some music.

An old friend from half my lifetime ago has died, just saw it on Facebook on Wednesday. Have been trying to find out the cause.

Goodnight everyone!

Diva, I do hope that you are feeling better soon.

To you and your bride Capt. Many congratulations.

Watching Last Night at the Proms that I recorded, you have never heard Bohemian Rhapsody quite like this, with a fifty strong concert orchestra and Sir Brian May on guitar.

We are going back to the festival that we went to yesterday, we shall have our lunch there, fingers crossed that the weather holds.
