Setting up a "legacy person" authorized to close account

OK...I am in process of listing all my sign ins and passwords for a designated family member to permanently close accounts,,,and let people know I have umm...left the building as it were

@Matrix or whoever may know....is it preferable to delete my account should I pass on....or have someone come in on my behalf to let everyone know I am gone? So, if I have someone sign into my account, and post a message I am no longer here, what happens to my account..will it be deleted? Or what happens

Sure, anyone that has access to your log in credentials for SF can. I have seen relatives login on several forums to inform the membership of a member's passing. I believe that occurred here, a time or two...?

Like Nathan said, if someone has your log-in info, they'd come in an make the announcement... can't see why or how that would cause any kind of issue.

I also think it’s nice when they leave a link to the funeral home obituary.
