Is it time to buy a new refrigerator?

Samsung is rolling out their new $1800 refrigerator that will display ads. Enjoy - you won't be bored in your kitchen.

"These refrigerators will display “promotions and curated advertisements” on certain Cover Screens when the Family Hub screen (i.e., the door display) is idle."

How about the ones with cameras inside so that you can check on your phone to see if you need something.

You wonder if you need milk, check and see that you still have a quarter of a jug left and decide not to buy any this trip. Refrigerator sends you a message, "Are you sure? Y'know, you might want to make pudding tonight....go ahead and buy some milk" and it nags you all the way through the store. "OK, then, don't blame me when you get home and wish you'd bought milk!"

Who needs that pressure?

What about just opening the door and looking?.......😝😝😝

Everything is becoming a toy. Remember when a car was just something to ride around in? Now it has video screens and 8 hi fi speakers. My ford even has mood lights in choice of colors. It wasn't that long ago when a clock was a neat option.
Yes, and the clock was easy to set. On this one, I have to get the book out, so I just stopped. I always have a wrist watch on when driving.

The back up camera when car is in reverse is worthless to me. I need to actually look to be safe. I have to turn the audio completely off to switch from AM to FM. A warning symbol like a big white blob appeared on my dash screen and I didn't know how to get rid of it; had to call the dealer. All that, and my car isn't even new - it's a 2018.

Oh yes, and if I get a tire pressure low symbol, it won't tell me which tire, but the older car I traded in did.

Mood lights in a car. LOL!

Stupid, isn't? The 2010 Focus I bought from my sister had a button in the console that I couldn't figure out. One evening, I pushed it and there was a soft light coming from the floor and the cup holder. Pushed the button again to turn it off and instead, the light changed colors. Turned out there was 7 different colors.

People will buy it. Why? There will be no choice. You want refrigeration, that's all there will be to choose from. When the consumer is used to that, if you want it to stay running-- you'll have to pay by the month PLUS see ads. This is what happens when money is really the only meaningful thing. I could be wrong, the way things are going there just might not be any food, so it could be a moot point.
