I lived right near the Belt Parkway, which, to this day, I can still drive in my sleep!I lived a bit more to the east in Suffolk County but we had to travel through Nassau to get to NYC.
My sister moved to Nassau County in 1968 and raised a family there. I also lived there, in her area, for five or six years, don't remember. Has beautiful beaches there, other amenities. Good services, too. Feel very good about Nassau County, and @taliovelez had friend who worked for HANC for many years, so am familiar with them.
Then you probably rode with my grandfather. He was an engineer on the Long Island Railroad.I loved taking the trains there from Jamaica.
Old L.I.R.R. route of the Dashing Dan, then for obvious reasons his logo was replaced by, well you know. When I was young I would ride the MP54 ping pongs that were replaced by the MP72s from Flatbush Avenue a/k/a Atlantic Terminal to Country Life Press. During the summer I would take the steam generated and very smoky Alco powered and covered wagon cab set from Jamaica to Speonk. All the new engines are hep equipped. Eventually the MP72's were replaced by the cool looking Budd M1's. Now L.I.R.R. is up to M7's.Then yu probably rode with my grandfather. He was an engineer on the Long Island Railroad.

Your location is Midwood. Are we talking about Brooklyn, specifically Kings Highway area?

Just gotta deal with it.
