Do you order from Walmart?

If so, do you use the 2-step verification feature? I logged in this morning to place an order and that was a big surprise. First, they had to send me an email with a verification code. I entered that code and then, they had to call me and give me another verification code. I entered that code and finally, I was able to place my order.
I realize it is a security measure but sometimes these places go overboard. As I understand it, I will have to do this every time until I go in to my account settings, and turn the 2 step verification off. I haven’t placed an order with them in two months but it wasn’t like this. If I need to order every month, this just seems a little too much to me. If you use it, how do you like it?

I have Walmart+ and I can order online without a code. I will be ordering again in a couple of days and see if I get one, if this now required. Some places send verification codes to me when trying to get on their sites.

clearly we don't have Walmart here but I get these annoying 2 step verifications all the time. You enter your email.. then they want to send you a code to your email to make sure it's you, then you enter the code, and it wants to send a code to your phone..... and that's when you realise you haven't updated your new number to that specific website, and it won't let you update it because it has to send a code to your old number first....😖😖..this all happened to me just yesterday on the NHS website

I've had that "their going overboard" feeling at times too. I don't know if it's necessary or not, and being a cynic, I always question the motive behind it. Are they collecting personal information? I never even stopped to reason if that could be.... because I'm a cynic.

But I frequently order from Walmart. It's not my first stop. Knowing exactly what I want, and shopping for the best deal sometimes ends at Walmart. I was burned on a product once from one of their sponsored providers. But that can happen anywhere.

I get caught up in the loop of 2 step verification all the time. If this trend continues, technology as we know it will eventually become useless.

As for Walmart, it's less than 2 miles away, so I just go pick up what I need. It is important to me to get out of the house, and I want to choose what I buy - especially when it comes to fresh vegetables.

Some weeks I may stay home 2 days in a row, but then I need to get out for different reasons. Since I usually buy refrigerated items at Walmart, it's usually the last stop of several other places I may need to go, such as gassing up the car, the ATM machine, checking my p.o. box mail, Dollar Tree (some items there cost less than Walmart). It would serve me no good purpose to sit here at home waiting for delivery of a Walmart order. I would just find that inconvenient and frustrating.

One way I get around the annoying two step verification is to have another device (phone or another laptop) sitting right next to my other laptop and have it go to email which is already open.

I have no complaints with WalMart or their local delivery people ….. They know they are in competition with Amazon, and they really seem to try harder ... here anyway.

My orders to Walmart go thru fairly quick …. after putting my email address on their website, they text a code to my phone .. takes less than a minute. No password needed.
It’s been that way for a couple years now … no problems.

And I’ve come to find out that they seem to have, or can get, everything you can find on Amazon’s website.

annoying as it is, it;s not the email codes that are a problem.. it's having to get the email code.. then a text code.. and then realising that you haven't used the website for long before you've had a new phone number.. and they won't allow you to change the phone number..until they send a code on the phone number they have on file.. and of course we don't have that number any more... stupid!

The most annoying hoop I have to jump through is that every time I sign in at Walmart on my laptop, the end result is that I have to change my password. There is no one to call about that. But somewhere around here I have the number to call about groceries missing from my order.

I do not have any of these problems when I use my phone to order from WM. My longstanding rule never to order anything online from my phone has been abolished, but only for WM.

I've had the changed my phone number so I can't sign in problem. And I've almost got the habit of grabbing my cell phone before I use my laptop, just in case.

I use Walmart frequently and switched to using them more often after getting frustrated w/Amazon.
I don't have Walmart+ yet, but I have been thinking about it for grocery deliveries... some days are harder
than others, in regard with getting out of the house.
I don't have much trouble with their two-step authorization stuff... similar to what others have already said
about getting them to text me a code to the phone and getting on with business in under a minute.

I think all this 2-step stuff is corporations having to deal with hacking and whatnot... they can't keep up with it
and our info really isn't safe out there on the internet... they're just not gonna say that though, so I only use
my bank card and get a new one/new number every year.

That's why I keep a screen open on another device. I just look over and get the code. Takes a few seconds.

I don't use the 2FA. I just sign in. And yes if you don't wanna do that you hafta go into your settings and turn it off. Really if the hackers get into the site and steal info that 2FA isn't gonna stop anything. It's just to keep them from logging into your account.

I get 99% of my stuff from Walmart and the rest from Amazon or DoorDash.

Same, regular Walmart delivery here is only about 1-2 days.

@Ted01 I signed up for Walmart Plus when it was half price ($50) which they offer some times....I also get deliver on all my prescriptions...also I live about 16 miles from this Walmart, I've only had one problem with grocery delivery, two items were left off but they send a text after every delivery asking if delivery was okay and there is a place for any mistakes so they issued credit on the two left off items right away. Another thing I like about the app is that they will send you a map showing when the delivery car leaves, where it is along the way, how many stops it has to make and how many minutes until they reach your house.

....and it's not just groceries and prescriptions, they'll deliver any item in the store as long as it is labeled delivery. Other items on your list that's not labeled delivery will be shipped at no shipping cost.
