What is your favorite weird food combination?

I like oatmeal cooked of course. I know that isn't weird. But after it is cooked I put plenty of sugar on top.So far so normal. OK, I confess I like it cold, and when it is cold the sugar on top is crunchy.

Nothing weird about peanut butter and banana sandwiches!

Peanut butter sandwiches were my go to lunch in school. Of course that was before the peanut ban. :D
Im not sure about grapes in soup. I suppose it would depend on the soup.
Try candy corn and salted peanuts. Its a traditional Halloween snack. Sweet and salty.
What peanut ban?

Someone once talked me into trying blackberry balsamic vinegar on vanilla ice cream. Believe it or not, it was delicious.

I don't think it’s weird but I like pineapple slices on bread with mayonnaise. The mayonnaise must be Dukes brand. If I don’t have pineapple slices then I substitute banana slices.

When I was a girl, my parents and I were walking on the boardwalk. They got me frozen custard then crinkle fries. I ate them at the same time and it was so good. I tried duplicating that taste sensation with McD's fries and their soft ice cream, but it's not the same.
On the occasions when my kids and grands have both, they'll dip some of their fries into their milkshakes.

I was at my nephews birthday day party a few days ago and my sister mentioned she still eats gooseliver and dill pickles on saltine crackers, just like our dad did. I'm not sure if that's a strange combination but I always found gooseliver nasty, and haven't heard of anyone eating it in many years.

Okay here's one. Hungarian in origin, I believe.
Large chunk of bacon but mostly fat. Put it on the bbq till it starts to drip.
Okay, now you get fresh rye bread. Lay the slices flat and drip the bacon juice on the bread. Now you add fresh crisp lettuce and sliced tomatoes, maybe a little salt and pepper.
Open face. You can eat half a loaf of bread before you know it.

The old-world blt?

I put ketsup on steak and it doesn't matter what cut it is with the exception that I don't put it on prime rib. I just use the au juice for it. I also put ketsup on pork chops.

As a teen I worked the front store of a small bakery owned by a couple who'd emigrated from Germany. In addition to all the baking equipment, there was a small kitchen in the back room. Sometimes the owners would smear a thick layer of congealed bacon grease on bread for themselves and offer some to the girls who were working the store.

We all declined, and not overly politely as I recall. Years later I realized it wasn't much different from eating bacon on a BLT, but when I was 16 it looked like they were spreading dirty Crisco on the bread. Gag-me level gross!

Truth though - even before I changed to plant-based eating nearly 12 years ago, I never did anything with bacon grease but throw it out. Smearing it on bread remained unthinkable.
