My echocardiogram appointment went well today. I got there a little early and was taken in fairly quickly. In fact, my oldest grandson works in the building and by the time he made it up to see me, I was in the exam room. I have three appointments in that building in October, so we'll likely see each other then. When I left, I walked the short distance to the bank to use the ATM, which I rarely do, and order my ride.

I didn't get back to the task of dealing with my suitcases. The one I'll be using is inside another and they're in an industrial garbage bag. So that means putting stuff back in the storage closet will be done tomorrow. After lunch I took a long nap. When I woke up, I loaded the dishwasher for the second time, hand washed Deja's bowls and did some of the quarterly accounting for my son and me.

I'd turn loose all of my savings if it would buy a raindrop!

No meetings of the minds or board meetings on my agenda today. Big business will just have to get along without me ;) .

After wild days of cooking and baking, there's a sink full of dishes that need to be washed. Can somebody please tell me why, when my brother was building this place, I declined his suggestion of installing a dishwasher?
If you have enough counter space (or even get a rolling cart that reaches the sink), you could get a countertop dishwasher, which is what I have. The last one I got has a configuration that isn't always convenient to load. I'll mention loading it from time to time because it can be a challenge, according to what I need to put in it. I've had my Koldfront for a couple of years but don't see it on this Amazon page. The first one I got decades ago was a Danby. It had a window that eventually leaked. Their newer model (no window) is shown on page 2. If I ever have to get another one, I'd choose one without a window, like what I have now.

@OneEyedDiva How I wish I had room for a dishwasher! Alas, here in Lilliput there's no room for one. more. thing. While The Hovel was being built, one could have easily been incorporated into the lower cabinets, but I really thought I'd never have that many dirty dishes. I thought wrong!

It's October. As DS said when I mentioned "October Eve" yesterday, "Yeah, just six more months of summer." :D He's a heat lover so for him to say that, says a lot about just how ready peeps are for cooler temps.

I'm gonna start cooking cool weather comfort food, hoping to encourage Mother Nature to cooperate. Maybe the power of suggestion?

@hawkdon Did your doc have anything new up his sleeve for your COPD?

I'm going to pick up my grandson after school and spend a few hours with him. Due to my left foot infection I have not done this for too long. I'm very excited about this. Nervous when it comes to AccessARide; nervous, period.

My therapist told me yesterday I have to accept three things: 1. Accept my own death; 2. Accept myself; 3. Accept my health not getting better and maybe will get worse---although she didn't say maybe.

I've been mulling this over in my mind. She told me to think of today and tomorrow, but not much farther, although she didn't say much.

I have been falling apart. Need glue to put me back together, I'm not Humpty Dumpty; I believe I can do better.

Today is very important to me.

Granny, he had a different inhaler powder called tremfaya and gave me some samples to use till i see him again on oct 28th...i THINK I had this same powder before, cannot recall...
bottom line this doc is not big on saving money for people unless you press it which I did....so we will see if this stuff
helps any......my lung capacity i 32%....rather low I think.....thanks....

Ok on to the next things.

Today I need to continue to wash, sort, and repack my archery gear for next season. The next order of business is getting ready for a camping trip to Yellowstone where we have perhaps the best single campsite in the park booked. Wx for the first 5 days is predicted to be sunny, highs in the mid 50's and lows in the mid 20's °F, brisk but doable. Of course .gov went on vacation last night so who knows if we can camp. Perhaps there will also be some time for a motorcycle ride as well.

I also need to take my wife out for a great dinner to show her my appreciation for putting up w my hunting buddy during his 2 week stay, he's the worst houseguest ever.

Morning all, on my early walk at 6:50, a tad cool temp was 52 as I strolled around the building twice before breakfast Another sunny day here, temps in the mid 60's, we need some rain, in a moderate drought around WNY. The leaves on many of the trees are still green, haven't changed yet
NO real plans today, a mid morning walk,,this afternoon at 3 we're having a full Evacuation Fire Drill drill. When the fire alarms go off, they are extremely loud so much you could wake up the dead LOL!Those who are physically able use the stairs to the 1st floor, out the exits, wait on sidewalks to be accounted for. Those who can;t take the stairs they wait in the stairwell areas on their floor, all apts will be ck'd to make sure residents are not there. I don;t know how long the drill will last, it will be a nice day to be outside
The rest of my day read NYT, tonight after dinner tackle NYT crossword puzzle,At 8pm on PBS watch' 'Big Cats' program, which I've been watching the past couple of weeks,
Enjoy your day everybody

Good morning to everyone. It is 68 degrees, so quite cool here. It feels good and maybe will stay with cooler temperatures.

Lawnmower man missed cleaning our back patio with leaves left on it. He says he will take care of it this morning. I am thinking I might have to hire someone else as he hasn't been taking care of the lawn, as he has gone longer not mowing and that makes the yard look more unkept.

Take care of yourselves, everyone and have a good day. :)

Well it started off with rain... the parcels were left on my doorstep despite the big instruction on my door to them to leave them at the back... so they were soaked...

fortunately aside from one cardboard box which got wet through, but the items inside weren't damaged because they were plastic , everything else was double wrapped..so stayed dry,,,

Amazon again not following instructions *sigh*

Sun is out now tho' at 4.10pm.... 🌞 🌞

I got the new cordless electric scissors today.. and they made very short work of the carboard boxes.. so easy to use... so I've just paid for another set, and sent them to my daughter as a surprise...

@hollydolly, I finally had Amazon follow my instructions about taking them inside the enclosed porch. I put on my directions to do that and if left outside, they may be stolen. Anyway, they have been better this past week.

Maybe you can reword your instructions to make a point of them getting soaked where they placed them.

Good morning and Happy Wednesday, October 1st!

Happy to report that neither DH nor I are having any negative effects from yesterday morning's flu vaccines. Hoping it stays that way.

I completed my chore of instant-potting, bagged and in the freezer with the exception of quinoa. Evening plans with friends were more important. I'll catch the quinoa if I need it sooner than a couple of weeks from now when I'll replenish my stash of (overcooked) garbanzos specifically for hummus.

We'll have 19 month old grandson for a couple of hours today while DDIL manages a doctor appointment for 3 year old GS.

I nonly have a sign on the door in black bold on a white background.. I have also contacted amazon on 3 occasions and they have promised that they've given the driver instructions.. but they still ignore it...

Amazon are the only drivers to ignore the instruction.. all other delivery companies including Royal Mail follow the instructions with no problems
