Kidney Stone Today.....OUCH, the pain!

I was told by my urologist to get a lot of lemon juice in my diet to help dissolve stones. I do use lemon in all my drinks and haven't had another stone.

He also gave me an "all-you-want/sometimes/never" sheet of food items. I took one look at it and said, "Whuuut???" He said that's what everyone says, but he gives the sheet out anyway.

Just about anything that was good for you like dark leafy greens, etc. was on the no-no list, but you could have three Cokes a day....because Coke dissolves kidney stones.

And then there are gallstones. I had three attacks before I had it removed. No problems after.

I put lemon in my tea, both iced and hot. I do like lemonade also (with a little vodka from time to time)
I used to love coke, but for several years I just don't drink carbonated beverages.

I haven't seen the urologist yet but have to call for an appointment on Tuesday.

Happy you are doing well!

Nothing strikes fear in my heart faster than the words ā€˜kidney stones’. I’ve given birth twice and I can personally tell you a kidney stone is more painful. I had to have surgery as the doctor said I’d never pass it and there was a danger of it causing permanent damage. The doctor saved the stone for me. It was shaped like a tiny barbell.
