Today is a medical day. My visiting nurse will arrive soon to change the dressing on my feet. An X-Ray technician is coming over between 10am and 5pm to take pictures of my feet. Hate waiting. Seven hour window. Ridiculous. Luckily, it is windy and rainy outside, so I'm inside for the day anyway.

Started putting away laundry I did yesterday. I am so relieved I was ABLE to do this. Grateful. Want my independence as long as I can.

Thank you, guys, for when you listen to my complaints. It really helps me to complain!
 

Woke up at the crack of dark - early 4's. Cut bait on the operation by 4:40, clambered out of bed and headed to the coffee pot. The magic 8 ball suggests there might be a nap in my near future.

Some household chores are on today's agenda, but nothing too laborious. I dusted yesterday (did you hear that, @Georgiagranny?) and will set Roomba to work after DH gets up. If yesterday's laundry is dry - it's hanging in the garage - I'll start a load of towels. If not, to quote Scarlett O'Hara, tomorrow is another day.

No sense mopping the floors today because it's gonna rain tomorrow (and possibly today). So maybe some straightening and decluttering.

Hope you all make today a good one. Monday, October 13th, 2025 will only come around once, you know...
 
Playtime, except the first picture where Heidi (5 y/o) is digging a hole. Is she sensing that her buddy Ross (10 y/o) is there underneath?
Yes, she did dig till the body bag appeared.

Two weeks ago, I adopted Rex (12 months old, 60 pounds) who already tries to dominate Otto (8 y/o.) Rex even tries to climb up on
me which apparently is a sign of affection. I have a hunch that Rex will keep growing and will protect me just as much as Ross always did.

We had a really nice Impala, but, it was stolen from thye Pamona swapmeet parking lot and we never saw it again. :cry:
It is however still listed on the Ca. hot sheet, so maybe someday we'll get it back.

@Muskrat; thank you for this. His birthday is today. I did mail him a card and simply signed it "Love, Mom xo" (no histrionics or entreaties). I didn't hear anything back, as expected, but neither did I get a "leave me alone" message.

For all I know, he simply tossed it straight into the trash. But thanks, and I thank everyone else here who has offered support.

No, don't think it smells. Did tell son. His wife, Dr. of Optometry, has doctors and PAs in her family. She has been trying to reach me today, but must keep landline clear for x-ray tech for home visit. If I'm told to go to a hospital, I will.
 
What I did today: watered the flowers. And then I sat on the teeny, tiny patio at the Hovel and thought about planting the allium bulbs, giving a lot of thought to where they should go. Did I plant them? Nope.

@Irishdude, see my tag line? A job well thought over is half done. So the allium bulbs are half planted, and your Huge Closet of Horrors is half attacked ;).

Another overcast day... quite cool at 56 F


The big pack of dozen socks I ordered arrived this morning along with some thick winter touch screen gloves . It's not that I don't have gloves already , I do.. but none of them are touch screen..and it's annoying when it;s snowing or freezing cold and I have to take gloves off to make a call or to text...

Morning all,on my early walk at 6:45, temp was 56 wearing my yellow reflector vest since it was still dark outside as I strolled around the building complex before breakfast
I'm going to be with, Tage{ pharoh hound} for the 1st time since August. Marcia is going to our church with the monthly program,'Passages'{ she's the co chair}.When she called me last week, I told her 'I want to be with my buddy boy, I miss him' she'll be picking my up at 10am,will be the highlight of my day
When I get home this afternoon, read NYT, having dinner at 5:30 in dining room with Connie, 3 other residents
Every one have a good day
 
It's too dark to be sure, but I think it's going to be another beautiful day!

Yesterday was stressful, Mom issues, amongst other things. But today is a fresh start! Anytime after 8:00 I need to call the plumber and set up an appointment at my Mom's house. Then it's off to the gym, library, store, and pizza. Usual Coosday schedule.

Howdy all folks!! Looks like I am late today, lousy sleep nite....
Idiot next door has radio set to come on at 3 or 4am, tuned into
some militant sounding guy spouting nonsense(to me), and that is what woke me.....so kinda irratated this morning, but oh
well, ....got an issue with my left leg but so what,.....no big plans
yet for today, just go with the flow I guess....love you all for

Good morning to everyone. I had a grocery delivery but the shopper sent some extra items I did not order. I didn't discover until I was unpacking the groceries. I reported it and they said they could not do anything as the items were charged to me. I appealed the decision and will wait to see if they reply. I seem to be having some bad luck with the deliveries from that store.

Another colder day but with lots of sunshine.

I hope you all have a good day. :)

Anyway occasionally things might come out of the dryer creased.. doesn't happen often but when it does I have to iron... as was the case today.. 4 T- shirts, and a pair of Jeans...

I have a hand-held steamer that works well .. haven't used the iron in years.
