I sincerely hope that won't become necessary. I think giving yourself a break from trying to fix it for a while is a good idea... it's slow, but it's still working enough for us to stay in contact. I'm fine with that.
 
@Matrix , I remember you told us once about watching the number of users online when there's trouble. This is a lot higher than I've seen... Tuesday 6:40 a.m. EST A clue, maybe?

The numbers are fine, another forum on the same server had over 68,000 visitors at one point today. I had to disable guest access just to keep the server responsive.

These days, spam bots and automated attacks are completely out of control. Forums run by individuals, especially those with lots of content but without advanced security measures, have become ideal targets for data collection and all kinds of AI training.

Who would have thought that a senior forum running slow, would be such an in depth topic, or get such worldwide attention. :ROFLMAO:

It seems an endless battle @Matrix. If you do decide it's time take a break or walk away, may I just say, your generosity in keeping the forum running for so long has been much appreciated. Thank you :)

Like other people have posted, I have also found the forum slow recently but, today, it seems fine so, hopefully, the problems have been resolved for now. (y)
