Greetings from Virginia!

I also left Long Island decades ago and went to Virginia with my husband's job. I was delighted when he got a promotion and we relocated to Rhode Island and then CT. Now I'm in GA, but coping.

I might add that we were not in the beautiful countryside of Virginia but in Norfolk. it seemed that everyone else was Navy and transient. I did make a few good friends though. There are nice people everywhere.

I hear you... I left Long Island, NY over thirty years ago to move to Virginia..I felt the country calling me!
Long Island? I know just why you did it. I have a friend that was raised in NYC. Now lives in Jersey. How in the heck he does it is lost on me.

Same here. When I hit the country there was no looking back. It's been about the same amount of time since I left N. VA. And longer than that since I left MI.

Welcome! Fun and educational place to be. Hope you enjoy being here as you find your way around.

Well thank you for the nice welcome! Love to hear more about your artsy crafting. I love looking at crafts that people make themselves and love going to Arts and Crafts stores. We have a store out here in Virginia named Michaels and they specialize in selling arts and crafts.
Anyway, love to know more about your. crafting and see some artsy crafting you've done..

In the Hobbies & Interests forum-------Hobbies & Crafts section, I've posted 2 threads. I'll be posting more. Yes, Michael's is popular throughout the nation and one of the last remaining comprehensive craft stores. There's also Hobby Lobby, which has locations in many states.
