Good Friends Are Important For A Happy Life

Spending time with good friends is very special to me because unlike other meetings in our lives, this has no other purpose or hidden agenda.
Enjoying each other's company is the purpose.
I have three such friends in my life, two women and a man, unrelated to each other or me.
One from my college days, one from a company we worked for and another from a restaurant I go to frequently.
Even having one good friend is enough.

I'm glad to hear that ..good for you! Years ago, one of my close friends now, said to me when we first met , "wow, you're a nice person for being an accountant"...It could only get better after that first meeting and it did!

That made me chuckle, my SIL's an accountant..

I remember years ago they used to be labelled 'old fashioned stuffed shirt' types - but that description went out the window years ago. :cool:

I remember years ago at a company where I was working doing my accounting thing and a woman from another department came in and asked if she could ask me a question...
I said sure...She asked me, "Do I need health insurance?" She went on to say that she's single and money is tight.
I said yes and told her I can help you find the best rates,too ..
That worked out fine for her.. She thanked me by saying you're the only one who cares about me..I told her no need to thank me but take care of yourself and talk to some adults in your life that you can trust..she did..
Six months later, she came back in to see me and told me that she had met the perfect guy and they were getting married the following month.
I said congratulations and she said, you're the only one at this company I'm inviting to my wedding..
The wedding was great.. they are still happily married years later with a few kids...
I love happy endings 💕
 
My husband was an accountant but now retired. He was a good employee at his company and liked by everyone. When he retired, they wanted him to stay on but his health made the decision and he said he could not to back.

We still have friends from that company and some neighbors. All our relatives and daughter have moved to the West Coast and we miss all of them but do keep in contact.
 
Now about this friends post I have here on this site. I have a close friend (she's a carnivore🥰) who comes over for breakfast once in awhile (usually bagels, red roasted potatoes and some herb tea)
Anyway, yesterday morning she looks at my kitchen counter and picks up these two snack bags, fig newtons and coconut macaroons....reads the ingredients, holds the macaroons in her hand and says the following and I quote.."Vegetarian, my ass, these macaroons have egg whites in them! The Fig Newman's are ok.,"
It's nice to have friends...🤗
 
My love of football and baseball put me in touch with lots of kids who became my friend. I have always had a close friend or two. I find people who like to talk seriously about subjects. There has been a few periods in my life where I felt alone without a close friend especially during the holidays. :)

I'm like you. I'm not as easy to befriend as in my younger naive days. I've always been loyal to a fault and found a lot of "friends" I've known in the past not so much. I do have two or three good friends that are always there if I need someone to talk to but most do not live in this area. Thanks goodness we don't have to pay for long distance calls anymore!

is she mistaking Vegetarians for Vegans?... My X was a vegan he never ate anything with eggs or any trace of eggs in them...

Well, she means well but I overlook some of her remarks at times..She's a great friend and we know that nothing as trivial as that point she was making will ever come between us .
A pain in the ass, at times? YES!!!
She doesn't like it when we go out to dinner once in awhile and she orders her usually steak dinner...and I look at her and just say MOOOOOOOO!
