The Green Dot on Avatar

What is the reason for small green circle on my avatar.
I changed it yesterday for halloween and it appears in all my posts.

You can go to your personal account and adjust it so your status doesn’t show up, so that others don’t know you are online. My status is blocked so others can’t tell im online

Maybe try turning your computer off and on again.

I have my status adjusted to not be seen by others but I see my green dot that shows I’m online . I don’t see your green dot.

The green circle I’ve always understood to
Indicate if a member is actively online.

We members can choose to show as active.

OR we can choose to not show that we are
Actively online. Meaning of course, we are
Actively online but we won’t show as active.

No it isnt to tell you that you are online - it is on other people's' (if they have not deactivated it) to tell you they are online

so if Dave's was there earlier, he was online then - it disappeared once he was off line

I've never seen one of these before. But with your response, Mizmo, there suddenly appears one under my avatar. How that got there is beyond me as I wasn't even aware that one could choose to let others know with this that we are on line.

Yesterday I did post a picture right off the net. Not from my computer.
I did remove it a little later as I was not so happy with the website I got it from.
