The Green Dot on Avatar

You can go to your personal account and adjust it so your status doesn’t show up, so that others don’t know you are online. My status is blocked so others can’t tell im online

I have never ticked the box to show online and really do we need a green dot to tell us we are :D
I don't see it til I post but I am online.
Doesn't really matter.
I just wondered why I never saw it before.

p.s. Dave's green dot which I saw earlier has disappeared:LOL:
 
The green circle I’ve always understood to
Indicate if a member is actively online.

We members can choose to show as active.

OR we can choose to not show that we are
Actively online. Meaning of course, we are
Actively online but we won’t show as active.

No it isnt to tell you that you are online - it is on other people's' (if they have not deactivated it) to tell you they are online

so if Dave's was there earlier, he was online then - it disappeared once he was off line
 
Oh you poor thing....no green dot on yours but
you do know you are on line don't you:puhuh.....

Well here is mine right off this page and as I have said , I am not ticked to appear on line..never have been

I've never seen one of these before. But with your response, Mizmo, there suddenly appears one under my avatar. How that got there is beyond me as I wasn't even aware that one could choose to let others know with this that we are on line.
 
Oh, that? Never noticed it before. Maybe it's good for valuable merchandise.

Yesterday I did post a picture right off the net. Not from my computer.
I did remove it a little later as I was not so happy with the website I got it from.
