Good morning to everyone. It is cold again (45 degrees) here but warming up in a day or two.

@hollydolly so sorry to hear about your pain and lack of sleep. I wish you well and please take care of yourself. The rental car sounds nice. 🤗

No trick or treaters here. There are not too many children that live in our neighborhood. One child is barely walking and doubt she would have been out.

Have a good day, everyone.:)

So far it's been a busy morning. Picked what was left of my peppers, pulled all the plants out of the vegetable garden and planted my garlic.

Disconnected the garden hose and turned off the tap from the inside. (Don't forget to shut your outside water, if you live in an area prone to freezing)

Removed the trunk lid from my 58 Chev, sold it. I have another in much better shape to install.

Helped a neighbour move a log splitter into a shed.

There is rain all around us, and heading this way. That means no skating today. What a shame. 😒

The forecast had been looking good, up until early yesterday when it started to change. We've reached a stage in our lives where we just don't want to drive in the rain for 2 hours, anymore.....and of course, the same to get home.

🤔 Now I'll need to find some mischief to get into......

Last night was perfect trick-or-treating weather - about 73°. Went around with the two little grandsons plus my DDIL & DS. So many neighbors had really tricked out (pun intended) their yards - 3 year old GS's eyes were like saucers taking it all in.

We had about 60 kids show up at our door. Glad I resisted DH's pressure to buy a second giant bag of Costco candy. Lots of K-pop Demon Hunters - I would have had no idea what they were if DDIL hadn't clued me in. The trick-or-treaters were adorable and polite, as were their parents. A delightful evening.

It's 8.30pm now.. and for the last 2 hours we've heard nothing but very loud fireworks going off...bang, bang. bang !!

This is in advance of Guy Fawkes ( Bonfire) night on the 5th of Novber..

People can buy fireworks and just let them off willy nilly.. and it scares the bejesus out of peoples pets and animals.. I wish they would make it illegal to purchase fireworks unless for a big festival or offically arranged firework show..

My daughter sent me more pictures from the Death Valley National Park (copied from my iPhone.)

If I were younger, I would have joined them on this trip. Below is a rare spring (the curved arrow was inserted by my daughter.)

Camping without facilities and lost somewhere in the boondocks.

A burro (wild donkey) in search of rare water ........ The car of my daughter's friend is at the bottom right.

Death Valley National Park, California, updated a few minutes ago: November 1, 2025 at 04:22PM, 79°F and sunny
High today 79° -- Low today 57°

BTW, this is the identical temperature we have today in the so-called Inland Empire, 60 miles East of Los Angeles.
Our highest temperature ever was 119F while Death Valley, I think, had 137F (with the ground temperature about 200F -- don't walk barefoot)

Good Morning. DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME HAS ENDED. I forgot to sleep an hour longer, LOL.

I noticed a couple of months ago that the outside tap that has been turned off on the inside was barely dripping outside. Testing showed the cut-off valve was leaking; plumber came and we fixed that problem. However, now it is seeping at the actual valve so another plumber visit is required. Or else just seal it with something. Haven't decided.

Good morning, Invisipeeps. I didn't post yesterday because it was such a busy day. Here's a rundown:

Got up.
Fed Maggiecat.
Drank coffee on the patio.
Got dressed.
Made bed.
Cleaned Maggiecat's litter box.
Checked email and bank balance.
Short nap.
Solitaire on laptop.
Short nap.
Mindless TV.
Short nap.
Supper.
Mindless TV.
Gelato.
Set clocks back.
Bed.

You can see how there was no way to squeeze in posting here, amiright?

Good morning to everyone. Time change here and now it will be dark before 6.00, so will have to be sure and not go out as I cannot see well when it is dark. I wear glasses but the lights on other cars and the darker roads make it hard for me to see well.

There was an ambulance in front of our house this morning but not sure who they were attending to at this time. The man next door has problems with ambulances arriving at times and the man across the street has medical people coming to his house all the time. Anyway, I wish them well.

Have a good day, everyone. :)

Morning all, I hate the time change because when I woke up at 5:50 looked out my bedroom window it was beginning to get light outside, thought how strange, went back to sleep until 6:20
On my early walk at 6:45,temp was 40 with no wind, didn't have to wear my yellow reflector vest as I went around the building once before breakfast
My plans today, going to our 10:30 church service, with friend Marcia picking me& neighbor, Bill at 10am. When we return going to brunch we 2 other church members at noon. This afternoon read local paper, talk with my brother, watch highlights of Game 7 of the World Series, stunned to learn my team Dodgers came from behind to repeat as champs, hope to take afternoon walk as well
Everyone have a great day

Chesapeake Bay oysters were delicious yesterday, and the Virginia countryside was beautiful as always.

But I have bigger news to report. We took advantage of the extra hour this morning and dispatched the Huge Closet of Horrors. It's cleaned out and reorganized, and we have a carload of stuff to take to the dump. We're going to combine that with a trip to the only store at which I like to shop (other than Costco) which is LL Bean.
