How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2025....

Waiting for my new laptop to be delivered by DPD. They've given me a 1 hour slot between 6 and 7 pm, so I won't have much time to play with it today. It's not exactly 'plug and play' as I first have to load linux and then install the applications, setup the wireless printer etc..
It will be nice to have a laptop with a fully working keyboard and not held together with Duck tape.
 

Morning all, winter came a bit early,yesterday afternoon rain changed to snow we have an inch on the ground
This morning my early walk at 6:45, wearing boots, temp was 30 as I walked around the building once before breakfast.It wasn't bad I'm use to walking in this type of weather,no real plans today,may go out mid morning just to get fresh air.

Good morning to everyone. My new microwave was just delivered. The nice young man brought into the house for me. The box is huge. We will have a friend put it on our cart as it is too heavy for me and my husband with disability problems. Also, he will remove the old one.

@hollydolly good news about your car being delivered today. You do have a busy schedule.

@moviequeen1 that sounds so cold, it is 50 degrees here with strong winds. Tonight will be 30 degrees, so I have to cover the gardenia plant.

It's an in between time for me, as the motorcycle riding and my hunting have pretty much concluded for 2025. I'm focused on getting ready for winter in terms of the house and my body preparing for another ski season.

My training has gone remote so I set up a "gym" in the basement - that's weird. I love the actual act of going to the gym. It's very warm and not snowing so that's weird too so the anticipation and excitement of pre-season is a bit lacking. We need cold temps and snow!!!

I attempted to buy a firearm this past weekend, invested Saturday and $100 in fuel to go pick it up, only to be denied by the store itself before they would even run the required background check. I could write a book about my firearms acquisition sagas over the decades. I have decided to get a concealed carry license so I'll be free of the mis-guided, poorly trained people that actually take away our rights, just because.

Thanksgiving is coming so I'm looking forward to cooking and spending time w family and friends. I need to get busy and make some turkey stock.


I used all my newly acquired skills to get up and down this beast last week with out drama. Last ride to Galena Summit for the season:

I went to the gym early this morning and now have a pumpkin spice bread in the oven. I want to get a quilt quilted and hopefully get the binding on. Then I can sit an watch an old movie as I hand sew the binding to the back.

The sun is shining after some snow this morning!

My car has been returned from the repair shop...all immaculate once again, you wouldn't even know it had been crunched...

It's still absolutely pouring of rain and a thick carpet of wet leaves everywhere ... I've just been out giving the inside of the hire car a quick Vacuum before they come to collect it...🍂🍃🍂🍃🍂🍃

Got the laundry done, now it's all in the dryer...

It's 3.30pm.. and it;s so dark due to the rain... people have their lights on..

reading?... I've got the dryer on and still got a second load to put in ... I've just been up to the barn, and turned on the dehumidifier, because the rain causes the outside of the larder freezer to get soaked with humidity...
I also Vac'd all downstairs... and I'm just waiting now for a call back from the Car hire company to collect the car...

No time for reading lol... anyway.. tbh, I can't read a book in the daytime any more without dropping off to sleep......reading is strictly relegated to bedtime now...

Busy gal!

I love to read when I'm on vacation. It's nice to just relax and let myself go someplace else for a while.

Hire car company just rang and said they'll collect the car Tuesday or Wednesday up until midnight ..no need to be in, just leave the keys under the doormat.

I said no I'm not prepared to do that, they would be seen, due to the design of my doormat.

She said..really, it'll be fine we do it all the time..I still said no.....so she said ok, have you got a Flower pot you can leave them under?.. I said no I don't..in any case I want to ensure that they check for any damage on the car before they take it away...

I've had many hire cars here and abroad.. I have never had a company tell me to leave the keys under the Mat.. ...remember this is a brand new car I have ..here :unsure:

I can see why they might want to delay pick up, but that puts you in the middle if something happens btwn now and when it's picked up.
