How would you like to find this little devil in your garden? At first, you'd think it was some kind of fake Ai creation, but, it ain't. It's a saddleback caterpillar, and his sting is something you want to avoid.

Wow. A caterpillar that stings? At least it’s not well camouflaged. What happens if you do get stung by it?

Contact with the hairs causes a painful, swollen rash and sometimes nausea.

In some cases, more severe reactions to the venom can occur, including a systemic condition called erucism or acute urticaria, for which severe symptoms may include migraines, gastrointestinal symptoms, asthma complications, anaphylactic shockl, rupturing of erythrocytes, and hemorrhaging.

In other words, I'd say bad things.

Thank you squatting dog. Yes I’d also say bad things could happen if you get stung by one. I wonder if animals get the same symptoms if they get stung. I’m glad we don’t get anything like that here.

We moved from a house to an apartment. Fortunately, it has a South facing balcony. We are growing everything in pots or planters.
Right now we have an aloe, 2 fire pencils, dahlia, plumeria, and gardenia.

Here you go, first is plumeria, still blooming in November and a small dahlia. Second is gardenia, chives, and 2 firepencils.

It gets complicated, because the succulents, plumeria, and gardenia all get different fertilizer. I use Miracle Grow products for all. plus Super Bloom for the plumeria.

Thank you. That Miracle Grow REALLY is fantastic. We use it for ALL our indoor and outdoor plants and it never fails to impress us.
