Single and not wanting to waste coffee

Jazzy1

Cheers!
Yes, I've used K-cup machines for years. Even have one for travel to take along. Since I only drink two cups of coffee per day, this is the perfect machine for me.

Can also get K-cups for hot chocolate and tea.

I have been using a Hamilton Beach single cup coffee maker for 15 years. I believe it was under $50, uses ground coffee, and brews up to a 16oz. cup.

I make two cups a day, clean it when I remember, and it's never let me down.

I've had two of the K cup makers. Didn't like either one; the pods are expensive, tricky to store, and just add more to the landfills. Have tried different filter-like brewers, like Pinky shows above. They're okay and I have kept it for emergencies. Meanwhile, I have the small Mr. Coffee-like drip (cheap WalMart brand), says 5 cups, but I get just over two large cups out of one brew.

DH never wastes coffee, he just warms it in micro. I personally want mine fresh. I have both types and use the
single cup one for flavored cup coffees as I usually only drink one. Trying to get the bigger pot out of his hands
to clean is a chore and has to be timed just right.

I don't care for coffee pods. I just have a four cup Mr. Coffee. I read somewhere that coffee water was good for plants, so any left-over coffee I feed to my plants. So far it hasn't killed any.

Yes... just be sure to dilute it one part coffee with one and a half to two parts water. Also, be aware that too much can make the soil too acidic for many plants. However, tomato's, roses, hydrangeas, and azaleas thrive on it.
I don't have to tell you to be sure it's black. (no sugar, creamer, etc.). ;)

I will not use K cups or pods because I personally try to make as little plastic waste as possible. I have a small 4 cup coffee maker, which makes two decent size cups of coffee, which is exactly what I drink every morning.

When I have company, I’d have to run the machine twice to get everybody a cup so I bought a second 4 cup coffee maker and then I just run both at the same time.

Still using my old 1960's Corningware 10 cup coffee pot, with Wally world hazelnut creamer and also their white creamer dust. Usually, I just drink it black with a touch of sugar, but, if the brother comes over, he like's it light. If I have any leftover, (not often), I just nuke it in the microwave.

I still have one of those but don't drink enough coffee to still use it. I always thought perculated coffee was much better than anything that comes out of a drip coffee maker.

Thanks for the tip!

I avoid caffeine like the plague. However, during an unplanned 2 day hospital stay I made the mistake of drinking coffee.

Big mistake, now I can't help myself. I am managing to limit my intake to about 3 cups a week.

I've been using instant Folgers classic roast. It tastes good to me, one teaspoon for one large mug, no waste.
