Rainy cold front passed through our area in the wee hours, then all day has been scattered showers with mid 50F temps. Since the sky has been mostly cloudy with minor breezes providing usable diffuse cloud light for forest photography, spent 4 hours from 9am today hiking in rain half the time. With my new hand's free umbrella set up, went out for a second time and given experience, a bit more prepared. On top of my Levi 505's was wearing both rain pants and rain shell jacket and carrying about 20 pounds of gear including hand carrying my camera/tripod under a large 3 mil plastic bag. So walking with a lot of motion friction from clothing and gear.
Hiked nearly 7 miles up 700 feet of vertical at a county park on trails exploring for first time. Shot 3 fungi and mushroom subjects and a couple mediocre landscapes. Good exercise and interesting nature, but not enough of interest to visit that park again. Inner clothing and all my camera gear remained dry while leaving the umbrella on the whole time. Something to post process tomorrow morning, Tuesday. Wednesday is looking like more hiking given yet another storm moving in.
Over the last few weeks, given a thorough house/car search this morning, seem to have lost a good pair of lightweight waterproof outdoor gloves and one glove of another pair. Probably fell out of pockets.
