Lets talk about cats.

There are a couple of nice threads with pictures of cats but sometimes I have a comment or a question.

Some cats seem to enjoy TV. My cats ignored it completely. I wonder why.

I am trying to socialize feral kittens and I think a dash of catnip warmed up a skiddish one yesterday. She finally accepted a lickable from my hand.

The momcat tries to remind me that she is still boss but she is weakening due to plenty of wet food.

Some feral cats never completely domesticate.

I took a male tiger kitty in and the only way I could catch him was when he got so sick, he came to me for help. I took him to the vet, where he spent a couple nights — also getting neutered in the process.

He refused to come in the house, so was always a barn kitty. Even after the vet trip, he never could warm up to being held. I could scratch behind his ears, give him a quick pat across the back and that was it. He was here for about five years, then disappeared.

My neighbor fed a stray for years. She had her neutered. When it was time for her to move she started by petting the cat with a stick. Gradually the cat let her pet her and was ready to go on the move a month later.

If I leave the front door open mine know how to open the screen and come in. They will hang out for a while and play with toys. I put some leaves on top of some cat litter and one of them used the box.

I have a mama stray cat too, @Babs2u , I've fed her and gradually petted her, now she'll sit in my lap for a few minutes. I've watched her outside from my bedroom chair.....She is smart and very wary of the neighbor's dog, she raised 4 kittens... moved them many times...I think she must have moved them to the neighbors as I have not seen them lately...anyway I am now attached to her.

My two ferals were cared for in foster care before coming to me. They are WILD and aggressive when they show love to me. The brother LOUIE throws his arms around my neck and vigorously licks me. Sister GIDGET might seem calmer but sucks on my arms like a vampire!

We have 3 cats, all formerly homeless. One of them loves to watch TV. The other 2 didn't even acknowledge the TV until Charlie came to live with us. Now one of them watches it with him.

Do you think they can see cartoons better because they are not 3 dimentional?

Both our male cats sleep on our laps when we watch TV at night. Andy is completely out. Bugsy is more sensitive to any loud sounds but he won't leave my lap.

Both cats were adopted after their owners passed away. The foster said all she could say about Andy is that he was a "TV cat". His original owner was an elderly lady and he must have grown up watching TV. He will sleep on his back, knead upside down with his paws and let us pet his tummy if the TV is on, which is something he rarely does at any other time. I've posted this before, but he is in a "daze" when he is on his blanket and the TV is on!

Both of them also like to lay in my lap when I watch TV during the day.
