Housemate asked for a ride to a specific store at 4:30. OK, I said. The one just down the road, right? Oh, no. The one by the Walmart. I don't remember there being one by the Walmart. Oh, not this Walmart, the one in the next town. Then I will have to wait for him. What am I, Uber? Notice how he locks me in before providing any details.

I'm in a bit of a panic now... I ordered some large wardrobe units for the spare room, which currently holds other furniture and lots of boxes with stuff for sale on auction sites. i was told the delivery would be around the 2nd of december, so I thought I had time to try and get the room cleared in readiness for the delivery, .... but I just had a text from the company saying they;ll be delivering in the next 2 days...
do you have someone who can help you with that?

My wife is coming home from her pilgrimage to Italy and seeing Pope Leo. Halfway through her 12 hour flight (now 9 AM PST) she
is leaving Greenland at this moment. At home I prepared not only the usual Roses, but also her favorite Baklava and Persimmons.
PS, she just landed at LAX after a 12 1/2 hour flight, and texted us the first message while still on the German Lufthansa airplane.

When my blood oxygen was about to fall below the normal range, I had a sleep study on October 10 that showed low
blood oxygen during sleep apnea. So, now I am using a continuous positive airway pressure gadget (CPAP) at night to
avoid health problems. Not exactly enjoyable, but I am getting used to it.

Just a few weeks ago, I loved my Boxer pack. But Ross (second from the left) had a mouth tumor that had been made worse with a
surgery, and he had to be euthanized last month. Otto on the far right has terminal cancer and will have to be euthanized now.
Yes, I love them all dearly, but being just shy of 90 y/o, two pups keep me sufficiently busy, especially my lively 14 m/o puppy Rex.
Anyway, sleeping with four dogs in my small bedroom was a little bit too cramped. I treat/treated them as if they were my children.

For some unknown reason (it’s not Thanksgiving in Canada) lineups at the local store were so busy, I left the one item I was going to buy on a shelf. They had a lot of tills closed. I’ll try and go back this afternoon. It was a semi-successful trip, because I ran into a friend and we huddled in a quiet corner and got caught up on his wife’s health. She’s not being co-operative about her meds and he is looking burned out.

@debodun
You mean NO ONE showed up?
No one. Same last year, too. I was whining to an online friend about it. She said it's probably due to:
1) the uncertain economy and people just don't have the disposable income to spend on unnecessary trinkets.
2) that I live far away from population centers and many wouldn't make a long round-trip on the chance they might find something.
3) most people already have all the Christmas decorations that want or need and if they didn't, and would probably want to buy new items rather than someone else's used things.

What burns my toast is the people that say they are coming and never show up. Some PM me and at least explain - one woman said she didn't realize how far away I was - not worth it to her to her. Another said when she re-read my ad didn't realize I was asking money for the items. She only takes free things. Another said she couldn't make transportation arrangements (apparently she can't drive for some reason).

@hawkdon......hope your day improved after breakfast!

Still working on the winter prep, 2 motorcycles in storage - yesterday's 35 mile ride at highway speeds at near freezing temps - was brisk I tell ya. The 2 bridges still had ice of them from the storm 2 nights before so I carefully followed the vehicle tracks which were devoid of ice. I'll take the last one tomorrow afternoon when it's supposed to hit 45°F.

Did a little yard work today, and a bit of shopping for some Thanksgiving odds and ends. My wife has been baking bread and dinner rolls for "Community Loaves" that end up at out local food bank so the house smells pretty good. I don't know what I did to deserve her!

I went to a "Friendsgiving" this afternoon in a beautiful state gardens. About 30 people in attendance. A big pan of paella was cooked over a fire and there was salad and desserts.

The fun was sitting at one very long table under the massive oaks with dogs and children running around. It was great seeing old friends and meeting new ones.

I'm up in the Florida Panhandle for 9-10 days for Thanksgiving and the usual relatives and friends coming in from around the globe. We'll have at least 19 for the feast.
