I think I was duped

At the August senior BINGO, I won a prize to pick out from a table of trinkets. I chose a deck of playing cards since I collect card decks. When I was walking back to my table, a woman reached out to me and said she wanted the cards and if I gave them to her, she would give me a deck of Disney character cards that she had, so I forfeited the deck to her.

I know her from the senior center because she is there eating lunch when I get back from delivering meals. So far she has either ignored me, claimed she forgot to bring them, or can't find them. I just wonder - if she already had a deck of cards, why she wanted the one I had won. Not anything that's keeping me awake, but I think she is full of it.

ask for yours back..don't be shy... just say, well as we agreed to swap , and I havent got the Disney pack, I'd like mine back.... don't let people walk over you like that!

For Pete's sake, people, this is what you think about?? This is a deck of cards! That's all...nothing more. If you think people are full of promises they do not intend to keep, then stop putting yourself in the position of expecting fullfilled promises.

Have you ever been divorced?

she's explained it's not about the cards..it's about the continuation of people letting her down that she puts trust into....

In our cold cruel world we put the blame on the hurt party when the blame belongs squarely on the perpetrators.
Deb is a kind and honest soul who treats people as she expects to be treated. The onus of guilt does not lie on her shoulders but rather on the thieves and liars of the world seeking victims. She’s real smart when it comes to protecting what is truly important.

I think she is just surprised how petty and small some people are. IMO.

I know, it's more her behavior that irks me rather than the cards themselves. Just like Marletplace - people are full of promises they never intend to keep.
There's a possibility that it may be some other issue going on with this lady.

It's irritating and not a nice feeling to think someone has tricked you but, it's pointless making an issue of it with her.

If it were me, I would put it down to experience and perhaps be grateful for the gift of knowing you will not fall for that one again. Let her keep the cards, you have something much more worthwhile, the knowledge that you are better than that. (y)

Sounds like she traded you magic Disney cards, because they sure vanished fast. At this point and after all these months, if those Disney cards ever turn up, I’ll be amazed. At this point I think they’re in the same place as all my missing socks. Looks like a lesson learned from the Bingo Bandit Queen of Empty Promises (BBQEP).

I would think that Disney deck might have some good value being Disney and all. The deck you won must have been pretty rare or something for her to consider a swap ... if that actual consideration ever actually crossed her mind. Maybe it was just the bait she used to get you to bite.
