Mom's been gone 19 years

November 25, 2006, two days after Thanksgiving that year. Exactly a month from Christmas. The last thing I remember saying to her was, "What do you want for Christmas?" She didn't answer and went back to her bedroom. Two hours later I check on her and she was gone.

It's been 52 years since my mum died and i remember the last words I said to her, to this day ...

Holidays are never quite the same, are they? I make most of our favorite foods my mother used to make us for the holidays to honor her and show her the love for her like she had for us.

You can take comfort in the fact that your mom was fortunate enough to die peacefully at home, in familiar surroundings.

Sunday was the 5th anniversary of my mother's death. It was a sad Thanksgiving that year.

I remember the Hospice nurse saying "she won't be here for Thanksgiving"...and she wasn't.

My Mother died in 1975. She was only 59.

Mine's been gone 58 years. June 24, 1967. I was 20 at te time.

It's been so long I seldom think about her.

My mom’s been gone one full year. She died November 24. I miss her so much.

This coming January it'll be 7 years that my Mom has been gone.
I was there at her last moment in this world......and the 56 preceding days
that she was in hospice care.

My closest relatives that are sill alive:
On mom's side - 3 aunts by marriage, 5 cousins- I am the oldest cousin on that side. Mom had 3 brothers, one older and two younger than her - all deceased now.
On dad's side - 3 cousins whom I wouldn't know if our paths crossed. I am 3rd oldest on that side, one cousin just beating me by 3 months. Dad was estranged from his family, so I didn't have contact with them. He had 2 sisters and a brother, all younger than he was - all have passed. Only one aunt had the children.

Your post really touched me. My mom passed 20 years ago at the age of 102. I flew in from the West Coast and sis flew down from NY for her 102nd birthday. I think she was waiting to see both of us one more time.
She passed away 3 days later.

My mother died in '73 she was just 39 years old...I was just a teenager

My dear mother has been gone 31 years. She put her family before herself and I still miss all the wonderful memories, especially at Christmas.

My mother died on Nov. 22, 2000. I miss her every day. We were very close and every night no matter where I lived (long distance or not) she called me at 7:00 PM.
