That's what happens when you don't have 19 people and 4 dogs.It was very quiet.
Almost sounds as if the host/hostess made a premeditated effort to assure there *wouldn't* be any arguing/bickering. Could that be it? Heading trouble off at the pass? That said, it sure does sound strange for a Thanksgiving dinner. There were envelopes beside each of our plates with our names on them. Each envelope contained a list of clues to solve a murder mystery - a game which took place during the meal, and consumed the entire time. So, except for a few brief conversations with people before or after the meal, I have no idea how things were going in their real lives.
Same for me.I've never attended or hosted a Thanksgiving dinner that had any arguing or bickering and yesterday was no exception... it was an awesome day filled with good food and good people.![]()
I missed last year, but this is my 3rd Thanksgiving to go there, and there was never any arguing the other two times I went. But I suppose anything is possible. When they host the event, their choices and motivations belong to them, and that's fine, but it was my final Thansgiving of theirs to attend.Almost sounds as if the host/hostess made a premeditated effort to assure there *wouldn't* be any arguing/bickering.
that little game at dinner sounds like fun.The food was good, everyone was pleasant, yet it was one of the strangest Thanksgivings in memory. There were envelopes beside each of our plates with our names on them. Each envelope contained a list of clues to solve a murder mystery - a game which took place during the meal, and consumed the entire time. So, except for a few brief conversations with people before or after the meal, I have no idea how things were going in their real lives. It was not at all a kind of day I enjoyed. The best part was getting back home.
Same here. It never happens, no matter what day it is. You just don't argue at the table. You've got a meal in front of you that someone spent hours preparing, you know someone worked for hours to buy all the ingredients, and you're sharing a table with people you love and who love you.I've never attended or hosted a Thanksgiving dinner that had any arguing or bickering and yesterday was no exception... it was an awesome day filled with good food and good people.![]()
