Have burning diaper rash

Maybe staff decided to get her rash cleared up and actually do some rehab before they let her go.

They can't discharge her until she can walk down the hall and back, unless she has a full-time caregiver. That was mandatory when I worked at a senior rehab, back in 2003.
Here, you can be discharged if you can do those hall walks  with a walker or rollator.
What gets dicey here, is if a relative claims you are better off or should stay there.

Yes, that was the criteria back then, too. And they had to be able to sit themselves on a toilet and get in and out of a bath or shower with the help of an aid device, if not independently. Almost all our patients went home with a walker and a shower bench.
