How many bridges are there to get to Key West - Florida?

That depends on who you ask. 😉🤭😂

Seven Mile Bridge

I think that the new bridge (left) opened in 1982.

Parts of the old bridge (right) have been used as a recreational walkway since around 2022.

I drove down the new bridge a year or two after it opened and I didn’t care for the sensation of being over water.

It can be a long frustrating drive to Key West if you get stuck behind a slow moving motor home.

It’s one of those things that everyone who visits Florida should do at least once.

From past experience, I can tell you it was a bummer when there was an accident ahead of us on the old bridge. We had to sit there for a couple of hours once; little room to turn around and no need to even try, because the bridge was also blocked behind us because a car pulling a trailer had tried to turn around back there and had jackknifed.

Actually, it was a sort of party going on. People were out of their cars and wandering around, talking, sharing beers and snacks. Kids were running around. People were stretched out on chairs getting a tan.

I would have, of course, rather not had my trip delayed, but it could have been worse. Only problem....no porta-potties.

Plus add;
The money bridge
The traveling bridge(air fare, etc)
The lodging bridge
The Uber or rental car bridge
The new wardrobe bridge
Soooo many kinds of bridges :ROFLMAO:

I have been out to Key West a number of times. I get a kick out of the chickens that walk around the village unattended or free range. I also enjoy watching the iguanas. Some of them are pretty big.

I never counted the bridges, but it is an enjoyable ride. The only thing KW is missing is a decent beach. The beach I visited had rocks and sand on it. I mean big rocks.
