How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2025....

It's 11.15 pm.. beautiful day..I've been out , went to Costco which is not in my town, and it was closed . I got there at 9.15 am it doesn't open until 10am.. so I went instead to Tesco , then the frozen food store... & M&S.... I cannot tell you how Packed the roads are, and all the store car parks.. absoutely unbelievable...:eek::eek:

does no-one go to work on a Tuesday now , I wonder.... you would have thought it was Christmas eve for the crowds... it was a really...really..unpleasant experience...

I'm glad to be home... and having lunch

Morning all, my early walk at 6:50 temp was 28, light snow falling but no wind as I walked around the building one time before breakfast. It felt good to be outside getting fresh air, yesterday I went out for 5 min too cold/windy never went out again
This morning will be attending our monthly resident council meeting at 11,rest of my day read yesterday& today's NYT.I may go out this afternoon for another walk depending if snow has stopped
Everyone have a good day

I see I am not the only one up early today. I rose at 5:00 am. Lots to do, and yesterday I felt overwhelmed and kind of froze up.

It's going to be "warm" here today, about 35 F, so I am going to complete a task I have been putting off for months: heading to the laundromat to wash and dry my mattress topper in one of their huge machines. It's too large for the little set I have in my unit, and I want to get that done before the temperatures drop back down to the single digits or lower.

I also need to figure out how to craft a contract for editorial work. I normally work for publishers but am beginning to get individual requests. I'm not a formally incorporated business, merely an independent contractor, so in between bouts of work today I need to look for a boilerplate-type contract online. The professional association I just joined should offer some resources.

So, I have a wildly exciting day head of me. 😉

I hope everyone is having a great day.

Good morning everyone. It is raining lightly here but will stop by afternoon.

I had to look for a new doctor for us as the clinic where we have been using is losing doctors and has too many patients. Appointments take two months to get, so they suggested for people to look for other doctors. It seems like the ones I call are not suitable for us. Now I am waiting for one to call back if they will take us as patients. I don't know why the shortage but most clinics are saying the same.

Anyway, I hope all of you get well that are not feeling well.

Enjoy your day for everyone. :)

Good morning peeps of SF...

It's 7.20am and still dark, and cold ... I'm still not feeling very well.. but today after lots of rainy days it's supposed to be dry and sunny... so if I can manage to do it and feel I can do it ..I'm going to go and do the grocery shopping... I haven't been out for over a week....

That said I still feel horrible... so we'll see what happens......but I'm not holding out much hope...

Have the best day you can folks.....

Just send the maid for the grocery pickup.

Icy snow last night. Our road out of the community is on a slope uphill.
DH tried to go to work and his car is stuck in front of the neighbors house.
They won't use salt on the road here as the water runs downhill into our lake.
So the wait for thaw has begun. I don't think he really minds not getting to
work as much as he minds the car being stuck on the road with all these apparent
tracks of cars sliding sideways to get out. We can only pray no one slides into it.

It was yesterday, last load to storage before winter arrives - hopefully soon. Me and my buddy did a drive following and saw some great wildlife. First a group of about 20 swans in a plowed field, next was a cow moose and 2 yearling calves, 3 bunches of deer - 30 in total, then a bald eagle capped it off.

Today training at home, grocery shopping, and trip to the ski locker in prep for the first day of skiing tomorrow.

So far I achieved not being able to answer my phone. Update means the phone checks for spam and gosh knows what else. It takes so long that callers hang up. While the check is in process, I cannot answer the phone. Yes, I googled how to solve this problem. It didn't work. It's frustrating. This has been going on for a month. Now something new has been added to my phone on how to manage this nifty new feature - and it doesn't work either. I am about ready to get a new phone from a different company. This one makes me grouchy.

Today I have to make appointments - car in shop for an everything check up. Doctors - only 3 to go so I have to get it done so I don't think about it any more. Decided to succumb to using the calendar on my phone.

WM has sent me my first Here Is Your Grocery List! email. I do not need their help, tyvm. Sadly, their list is based on someone using my account to buy ice-cream, cookies, and candy.

It's about time to take the winter clothes out. Everything except what I'm wearing is in the laundry, so hey-o, I'll be doing laundry today too.

I'm looking on the bright side. It looks pretty empty from here, but tomorrow is a new day! And yes, I'm on the right side of grass, so that's good, too.

Y'all have a great day! Spend it wisely, eat ice-cream!

My workout at the gym went well this morning, plus it was cool enough in there that I was able to walk on the treadmill without overheating!

I didn't have any extra errands to run, just the usual coffee and a few items at the little grocery store. Then walk over and get a pizza before coming home. While at the store, I was looking at some resin Christmas Coos. They had a bunch with top hats (like Frosty), but only one left that had a Santa hat.....so we got him!!! 😁

On Thanksgiving morning, the fan on our heat pump failed! 😕. Of course, these things always happen on a Holiday weekend, with cold temps, right?!!! We've been using space heaters and electric blankets since Thursday. We usually do that anyway, as a supplement, along with the heat pump.

Luckily, Dio is a HVAC guy (amongst other things). He was able to isolate the problem and find the unit that failed, then order the part online. It was due to be delivered today.

The package arrived about 5 minutes after we got home. As soon as he's done eating, he's going to go outside and fix our heat!!!!

Good reason to have a dedicated set of winter tires.

Jeeps are on sale for a million dollars. Husband deserves a surprise Christmas present. 🎄

Back to normal,,just the 2 of us & the dog.

Hubby & son cut up & ground the deer meat..
He took some meat home.

Both sons got their favorite cookies while they were here.
Made a batch for youngest son to take home for his daughters.

I want to give some to my sister in law.
She is caring for one of her son,, who had an accident couple years ago.

Hope all of SF has a good evening.

I woke up super-early again .. will go back to bed in awhile.
Today, we are taking my sister out for a belated birthday lunch.
Her birthday was in April! She hasn't been well for some time.
I hadn't seen my sister for a few months, and, seeing her today - it really hit me that she is becoming frail. She is only 3 yrs. older than me, but has had medical issues (breast cancer, collapsed lung). I wish we lived closer to one another. She wants to host Easter dinner. I missed Thanksgiving at her place (I was under the weather).

Just had to vent

Got a call at 5 minutes before five that my prescriptinn was ready at Walmart. I am out and need one for morning. The parking lot was packed. No handicap spaces so I had to circle 3 times. There was a line. I am getting nervous. I need to be home before dark. I can't drive at night. Got home just in time. I tried to open the pill container for morning. No luck. I had to ask one of the guys. All part of aging I guess.

I'm sorry Pinks....it;s tough for you to see your sister so poorly, I hope she's not in pain, and I hope you can get to hers to celebrate Easter... 🙏
