How are you today?

@Medusa and @Georgiagranny I like all the seasons but, Spring is my favourite :)

Rained today but not too cold. I popped to the Post Office to pick up a parcel and then to the supermarket where I bought some tins of Mr Organic Tomato and Lentil soup. I like making soups but, since the days of Covid, I have got into the habit of stocking up on some tinned stuff.

By the time I got home, did some chores and started thinking about dinner, it was dark outside. We can hear the wind and it's raining again so, I doubt that I will be venturing far tomorrow. Actually, I am thinking of getting the Christmas stuff out, nearly everyone I know put their Christmas stuff up last week!

Hope everyone had a good day :)

We are away for a week mainly for doing allot of things like updating our wills, which involves 2-3 visits

Our hobby Of ballroom dancing Christmas functions ( already been to 2 functions ) 3 left to go ~
2 this week …one next week ….as well as a family catch up at water mark for lunch on Sunday
Dining — Watermark Glenelg, Glenelg North, SA which is in the seaside part of the city ..at Glenelg

We are off to Queensland mid Dec ,flying up as the roads will be very busy we decided to stay off the mojor highways , it’s a long way 2.200 km each way ….and we normally have a 2 night stopover each way = 4 nights accommodation up, and back and with Christmas approaching prices will be through the roof .

While I’d hate to live in Queensland ,we’d love it for the climate in the winter months ( Queensland is tropical )
however venturing up there in summer is a different story ..it will be hot and humid …..we call it hot here where I live
if it’s over 40c ..like over 105f …. Queensland is considered hot if it’s mid 30’’s C …mid 90’s

Ive got a major birthday 🎁 in Mid ….Feb , so we have booked for us to fly up to Queensland again ….as there is live music for dancing up there that we both enjoy 😊, as well as our accommodation includes meals …so we’ve got a busy time ahead of us …

My hubs surprised me this morning by buying us a ticket in the showroom to see a live show / popular singing artist in what’s known as Twin Towns
( called that simply because it’s built on 2 ~ different states borders) Queensland and New South Wales

This is part and combination of my birthday trip to QLD in mid Feb for my big number birthday ….i mentioned up here ^^^^^

TT showroom is fairly large ,~ think from attending previous live shows at the same showroom it holds around 1.000 +
they seem to attract some fairly good artists , but the best I’ve ever been ( for our tastes ) was a Roy Orbison tribute ( Mark Shelley )The Roy Orbison Story Starring Mark Shelley - Entertainment Venues
Backed by an orchestra …...think it’s about a 12 peice
and the Buddy Holly story was great as well

Twin Towns - Twin Towns Clubs & Resorts

I'm cold! It's rainy and clammy and cold out there.

Went to the garden center and got fescue seed, came home and overseeded (in the rain) what's left of the lawn.

Nothing much else going on today. DD is making red beans and rice with sausage for supper. I'm going to contribute Cheddar Bay biscuits from a mix. Do I lose my Chef hat👩‍🍳?

No, you can keep the Chef hat. The mix is just the dry ingredients. You still have to add something to it or it won't be biscuits.

When my kids were small, I used to make dry mixes for cookies and whatever else uses flour. It sped up the process. You do not have to make your own dry mixes to be a chef. In fact, using the mix makes it a more efficient process. Efficiency is everything!

I used to do the same for pancakes. Totally forgot about it until reading your post!

Rode my motorcycle over to Pascagoula today to see Jimmy Buffet's first home. There's not much to see. Just a plaque out front. It's in an older meighborhood. The house was built in 1916 and most of the others around it look to be about the same age. It's not a rundown area at all. It's one of those neighborhoods that yuppie types have moved into and gentrified.

It was a 70 mile round trip and I was chilled to the bone and shivering when I got back home The temperature never got about 50 degrees which is pretty darn cold when you get up to 65 mph on a motorcycle with no windshield. I wore my leather jacket but I didn't zip in the liner, which I should have. And I also should have worn a base layer under my jeans. I only saw one other motorcylist in the whole 70 mile trip and he looked like he was wearing a snowmobile suit and his bike had a windshield.

I took Highway 90 all the way. I wasn't in the mood for the Interstate. It was a nice little adventure.

@Kadee, that’s terrific to get an event rather than a thing for your upcoming birthday.
When we considered have a bit of a party which would be a non drinking event ( I’m not a drinker ~ never have~ or smoked )
A party would have been at a dance venue , (No drinking at our dance venues ) it would have cost quite a bit ,but even tho we attend dance venues of 50-60 people I'm one who doesn't partially like big crowds , so for what that would cost ….I suggested to hubs why not go to Coolangatta …QLD ….he jumped at the chance….our flights up and back ~ nice accommodation for both of us cost under $2.000 for 8 nights including a huge buffet breakfast ….so that means I don’t have to cook while away either …Yeh … it’s a significant birthday 🎂 it would have cost far more than that at the dance venue for food / decorations ect @Jules and it’s what I prefer, after all it’s my birthday 🎁….

OMG, you have just reminded me (I forgot, remembered, forgot again), that I need to put our little trees up! 🎄:giggle:

The new little tree is now sitting on the mantelpiece :) The little artificial one is also out, decorated and all lit up. I hope you remembered to put your little trees up too. Christmas will soon be here 🎄
We have two small, 3' trees that I leave decorated and cover with plastic, off season. I just need to uncover them, put them in their respective spots and plug them in. Christmas Cheer! :) I do enjoy the lit-up trees and plug them in first thing each morning. 🎄 :giggle:

By yesterday the sNOw from Monday night had been pretty much cleared up or melted. It was the big clumps pushed aside by the snowplough or lakes that puddled around curbs that made walking a bit difficult. Up and down over these obstacles. In spite of it I somehow walked a third further than usual. I think I’ll use my trolley to go milk. Having an excuse to go somewhere makes me walk more.

@hearlady ! Aldi has thermal Christmas jammies with pockets. I have 10 pairs of jammies. Did I need these? Damn straight I did! In my defense, three of the 10 pairs are silky and lightweight and two of the 10 are very, very heavyweight. So that left only five that I can wear in "normal" winter weather. Now I have six. All except three have pockets. Jussayin'

In your defense, I sleep is loose t-shirts and I've probably -well, including the ones I steal from husband, got about 20 of them! 😅
