My news from my two oncologists has been a bumpy ride of good news and horrid news. Little over a month ago I was told the surgeon couldn't see any cancer, then I had another surgery and the same doc said this third therapy isn't working and they have nothing more to offer me.

They can't tell me how long I have but they can tell me death is coming. I'm stopping the infusion therapy with all its needles. Today will be the last one. I'm going to stop posting about my cancer on this forum since it is such a downer and there is nothing to be done. I don't expect any responses to this note, I just want you to know why I'm letting this topic fade away. Thanks.

Also...life isn't always cut and dry. You can always change your mind if you should ever choose to. When you get hit with life altering news like that, sometimes it's hard to think straight.
If you ever want to get things off of your chest and feel like it, post on here. You might be an inspiration to someone or them to you.

Same guy, there is only one surgeon involved. And Oncologist agrees with him. Plus all the tests support the same diagnosis. They will run it by a cancer panel for a review but last time that panel recommended removal of my bladder and hanging a pee bag on my abdomen....I'm not up for that. I'm choosing quality of life over quantity. Also looking at death with dignity. My state is quite liberal in that area but not sure I have the courage to swallow the pills.

Oh God sakes, why did he change his mind so quickly after telling you you were clear?...oooh I'm just thinking out loud, this is very , very sad news.:(:(
 
Oh Lynn, So sorry to read about your ongoing health issues. Hang in there girl and even go for a third opinion. My friend was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer and went through the whole process of chemo, radiation and whatever, he came away feeling like crap and when it returned after 12 months he opt out of any further treatment and decided it was much better to let nature take its course. He was able to enjoy what time he had left.

Do you have bladder cancer? I have a friend that had it and he went to John’s Hopkins in Baltimore. There, they cut out his tumor and part of the bladder with the tumor. Then they built him a new pice of bladder and installed it on the remainder of the bladder.

No matter what, I would seek a second opinion.
 
This is your decision to make…and I know you have given it much thought. I will only say that you might be surprised at the number of folks with either removal of intestine or bladder or even both who wear bags. You would never know. Know someone right now wearing both after radical ******l surgery for recurring cancer. She is doing great and moving on with her life. Whatever you choose to do know we are here..we listen.
 
My late husband had cancer, lung cancer which metastasied to brain.
He underwent a surgery of his brain(large-sized tumor removal), but powerful and excessive time anesthesia lumpured one part of his bottom colon and got a surgery to remove a part of it.
Two major surgeries took away all of his energy and even could not sit on his favorite couch. and bed-ridden.
I tried to save his life asking Drs. ... just turned at age 75, but there is no way for it.

He passed away after 4-1/2 battle cancer.
He told the nurse of Hospice-care, .... the nature takes its course, rather he's alive in vegetable state with machine hooked-up. but his expression of his death was not 'peaceful,' not ready to leave the Earth.
He'd like to live more for his retirement.
 
I'm so sorry @Llynn . Do the best you can for the time you have. Dr's aren't God. Maybe a relief from treatment and worry will give you strength and ease your mind.🕊
