Pretty damn sad if we hafta go without meat in order to eat.
I eat three meals a day plus snacks and definitely fit dessert in. I eat relatively small amounts a few times a day. I drink mostly decaf green tea, sometimes grapeade (half 100% grape juice, half water) and sometimes flavored seltzer. I rarely drink plain water, except when it's very hot outside and/or I'm very thirsty and when I'm at the gym. The only time I have sodas is when I'm eating at a restaurant. One of my friends says I eat like a bird (or less than a bird). It appears you just don't eat much and perhaps don't drink anything besides tea and water.
Are you referring to Costco suing over the tariffs, saying they were illegally enacted?Costco is making a bold (but risky) move. Check the news.
This might explain what I meant about food comps & taking advantage of salesEasy all you have to do is be willing to spend money on entertainment. Our entertainment is in the form of gambling, notice I didn't say free if you spend enough, the casinos comp meals. Sign up for a players card & the spending is tracked. Tracking slot machine play or table games they know what is spent.
@Knight, I love how that last receipt says "Your Cashier Today Was Self."This might explain what I meant about food comps & taking advantage of sales
Yesterday 12/03/2025 we ate at the buffet. My wife had the hot king crab legs I had the steak & shrimp. Where it shows the casino voucher for $85.98 that is the comp.
The other comp shows $40.00 for food for 3 different weeks.
The last is 8 lbs. of boneless skinless chicken breast bought on sale today. So many different meals that can be prepared with that.
Self means I used the self check out. I missed out because I didn't read the weekly flyer right. By shopping today I missed the 10% military discount offered on Wednesday. Normally boneless chicken breasts are $2.99 a lb. 99 cents is a bargain it could have been 10% less@Knight, I love how that last receipt says "Your Cashier Today Was Self."Looks like you got a great price!
Yes, I understand that. And I understand that the receipt was auto-generated and that "Self" was automatically filled in. I wasn't confused; the phrasing just made me laugh.Self means I used the self check out. I missed out because I didn't read the weekly flyer right. I was half joking about a rice increase for barely. But, the simple fact is that finding ordinary barely in the grocery stores around me is tough. Other than the expensive box of barely from a big-name oatmeal company, there was none to find. Also, I think it was quick cooking barely, not ordinary barely. The research was for Brookswood, he was guessing there was a shortage due to the price increasing at retail, but not the case.
I don't know if your response was a comment on what I said about not eating red meat or not. If it was, I choose not to eat red meat because I'm not a big fan. My mother told me that when I was a little girl I used to chew the piece of meat to get the juice out of it, then spit it out.Pretty damn sad if we hafta go without meat in order to eat.
Yeah...I know you're right, but I never liked plain water and I've lived to be almost 79 (and in pretty decent health) drinking what I drink. My father used to drink plain water with his meals...couldn't understand how he could do it. To me it kills the taste of the food. My son does it sometimes too.I'll just give you one piece of advice: drink pure water. And wine. The wine doesn't have to be expensive; there are good wines at very good prices.
