Are you streaming ( or binge watching ) any series on Netflix, or any other service? Tell us about it.

I just finished "The Staircase" on Netflix and I wished I hadn't shooshed it off
before. I had it confused with another that is done as a documentary. This one is like a drama series,
got me hooked right off. Surprising way to make it last longer also than
a movie version.
Colin Firth and Toni Collette - a series not a documentary type.

I received a email today saying Netflix has been sold to Warner Brothers , apparently we was informed about it some time back ,but i prob just skipped over it ….Watch the prices go through the roof now ….
I don't believe it's a done deal yet. It must be approved by the government, and it may not be. Plus Warner is taking a big gamble because they'll have to cease operations for probably 18 months during discovery, then if the deal isn't approved they will have lost 18 months of revenue. I have a feeling this one won't go through, but ICBW.

Just finished Love and Death on Netflix. At first I thought it was a dark comedy. But then I found out that it is based on a real story. It was really interesting.

So much so that I am thinking about signing up for the 30 day free trial of HULU just so I can watch the version that is on there.

I've started Victoria last night and quite like it. Thanks for the recommendation, @Macfan!
You're welcome! There were about 50 years of her reign that weren't covered in this series, so I'm hoping they come out with a part 2 to cover at least some of those years and it would be a plus if they used Jenna Coleman for that too. :coffee: Don...

Stranger Things is back for the final season after 3 years of hiatus. We've already watched the first 4 episodes. 4 more will drop on Christmas, then one final one at the end of the year. It's funny to see how much the kids have grown up after 10 years!
I am waiting until all the episodes of the final season air, then I will re-subscribe to Netflix for one or two months so I can check out what else they have to offer. Re: Millie Bobby Brown...she's blossomed into a beautiful young woman, is married to Bon Jovi's son and they have one child. What happened to little Eleven!! I thought there was only supposed to be 5 one and a half hour episodes. I'll be interested to see how they worked around the fact that those children are now grown ups.

It's really a monster show featuring Spielberg type kids with potty mouths...😄

I've watched all but the last season Doc. I was a big fan from the first episode, but I agree that subsequent seasons, especially the last couple weren't as good as the first. Seems that almost everyone who is not on regular network T.V. has potty mouths these days. It's a pleasure to watch shows that don't feature the F bombs, which is so overused that it's ridiculous and disgusting.

Down Cemetery Road (2025)

I was interested in this series based upon my admiration of Ruth Wilson as an actress, especially after seeing her great work in the Luther series. And she didn't disappoint here, showing another facet to her wide acting range.

The first half of the 8 episode season started like a house afire. Very engaging. But at about the mid series mark it turned into a chickified flimsy action film which more or less deflated the show for me. I continued watching because of Wilson. The show shouldered on, becoming almost silly. Most of the black humor gags fell flat.

It was disappointing to me to see Emma Thompson in an unfavorable and confusingly written role. It didn't help that, with her long leather coat and spikey short hair, she seemed to be channeling Keanau Reeves in The Matrix. The outfit never wavered, and she looked increasingly silly.

It ground to a scattered ending, which certainly was written to lend to a second season. A second season has been confirmed, so we'll sample it when it comes out. But if it continues on in the same style, we'll probably bail.

I started watching The Falcon and the Winter Soldier thinking it was another movie in the Marvel franchise, but turns out it's a mini series. I really, really like Anthony Mackie (Falcon) who I'd never seen before the Avengers franchise even though he's been in lots of films annd T.V. shows. Besides villain and hero stuff in Falcon>Winter Soldier, more background on who the characters are and what they face(d) as ordinary people is highlighted, so I'm all in.

The Falcon is struggling with and admonished for not keeping the Captain America shield after receiving the honor from the former Captain America, while fighting to save the world from a terrorist group with the help of Winter Soldier (previous Capt A's best friend), even though they grate on each other's nerves.

I enjoyed Castle as well as Bones. Elsbeth is unusual and interesting. I enjoy the Rookie. (Next season is coming in January)
Mayor of Kingstown, I watched a few seasons but decided to quit because I felt it had too much violence.
I liked Where the Crawdads Sing but liked the book better.
All her fault and Love and Death are both well worth watching in my opinion.
I am watching Victoria now. I cannot get enough of it. I love Jenna Coleman, such a great actress. The acting is excellent. The costumes are beautiful.
I am also watching New Amsterdam. I like the different personalities.

Just watched Love and Death on Netflix.
True Story
7 episodes

It was well done, the acting was superb. It took place in the 70's. The music they chose for it brought back memories of growing up in that time.
Watch to the very end as the credits are rolling.
