Car Repossessions Surge with the Help of Tech

Well, what if the scofflaw needs the car to get to and from work? Lots of people live in places that have no public transportation. I live in a large metro area and there is no public transportation I can take to work if I needed to.

Anyway, that scofflaw would be desperate to hide their car, and I can understand why.
I hear what you are saying but it doesn’t make it right.

I hear you and I see it differently but that’s ok.

I’m not a big fan of the every kid gets a T-shirt and a cookie for just showing up school of thought.

If people can live in a world without consequences why would anyone struggle to pay their bills and honor their obligations.
There are always consequences.

The every kid gets a trophy thinking was that it would assure that kids have good self esteem. I agree with you.

When the Little leauge team my dad coached (and I wasn't good enough to play on but that's another story) won the City Championship in 1956 those kids on that team were the only ones that got trophies. But by the 1980's the team my oldest son was on went 3 and 15 and finished in the cellar all of us parents ahd to pony up a few bucks each to give every one of them a trophy. :ROFLMAO:

Yeah. Each child on my daughter's team in the early 2000s won a participation trophy. I was astonished when I saw that, but said nothing to her because she was so proud of it. Hers, of course, was the losing team.

It’s a cold fact of life, if you can’t pay your bills or make payment arrangements you need to step up and sacrifice your collateral.

The rules need to apply no matter what the economy is doing.

Being broke doesn’t make you a bad person but being broke is much different than being a scofflaw.

I agree with you.
Choices have to have consequences.

I thought those trophies were ridiculous. My kids felt zero pride in "earning" them, and they were trashed fairly swiftly. The real winners were the trophy-making companies who pumped out this meaningless landfill fodder by the millions.

My GKs play in various park leagues and there are no trophies whether the teams finish in first or last place. So it seems the generation that was bestowed pointless trophies has rebelled against the practice when it comes to their children.

The so called "gig economy" means you can sign up with some of these services to help them read license plates. A camera is fitted to your car, and as you go about your business, data is accumulated. If you find a hit, and that hit is recovered, you get a small stipend.

Very interesting. I'm a news junkie but not familiar with the repo world as far as the plate reading.
