Stanley Baxter, a very funny man died yesterday.

I heard the very sad news of Stanley Baxter dying yesterday aged 99.
Stan was one of the funniest men on UK television, I don't think I missed any of his shows.
I don't know if he was known in other parts of the world, perhaps some members will let me know.

Me neither.... it's got to be that style of comedy which I dislike the most..same with jerry Lewis.. couldn't stand him either
I'm like that with some comedians especially slap stick. I'm more of a dry humor type. I never cared for Robin Williams and Steve Martins comedy but I loved their acting. I think (and thought) they were better actors than comedians.
 
I do like the English comedians, but I must admit I never saw much of Stanley Baxter here in Australia. Benny Hill was one of my favourites and that English show It Ain't Half Hot Mum about a British entertainment unit stationed in British India. It was so funny.

Stanley Baxter was not English, he was Scottish.... :)
