Remember Aluminum Christmas Trees?

Yes, I remember them. My parents had one when I was a kid, they had one of those floor lights with a color disc with blue, green, red and orange that rotated and turned the tree each color.
My parents bought one, too...in the late 60s, I think, maybe early 70s. They only used it two consecutive years, and only got the color wheel the second year. My dad didn't like it at all, and the color wheel didn't change his mind.

Me and my siblings didn't like it much, either...in large part because we looked forward every year to going up to the mountains with Dad to cut our own tree.

My parents had an aluminum Christmas tree when I was just a kid. It rotated and had the 4 color wheel. They were very popular in the early 60's.

They are very valuable today. I was at a flea market about a month ago and a fellow had one for sale including the color wheel. Price was $350.00! Not 5 minutes later a guy walked past me carrying that tree back to his car. Check some of their prices on eBay if you want a shock.

We had one in the 60s. We never had the color wheel though. Guess they thought it was too pricey. My sister and I loved the tree because of the way the branches were stored in cardboard tubes and when we pulled a branch out of the tube it was fun to watch the tensile needles spring open as it slid out.
