How Did You Sleep?

I recall when I could sleep for eight to ten hours straight without having to get up to pee. Sleeping all night is a thing of the past. A fond memory. I can sleep for about 4 to 5 hours before waking up. 36 If I'm lucky, I can fall back asleep for a while, but sometimes I can't. 🥴 I'm old and retired, so I'm not against having a nap in the afternoon.
God, this getting-old sh!t sucks!

@Bella

Tell me about it .. that's why I'm here - since 2:30 a.m.
I'll be going back to bed, probably more than once.

Well, I'm on the didn't sleep train with @Pinky and @Bella today. :/ I got about 7.5 hours in total, but the last one was light dozing. I need about 9.5 so I'm really freaking tired this morning. Since I was up way too early, I'm finished with journals and have my make-up on nearly an hour before I need to take Lucius for his first walk. Sort of at loose ends, which is why I'm here far earlier than has become my habit, of late.

I'm sleepy and tired (and a bit grumpy) at 09:15. Great. I have three dog walks, and exercises to get through somehow.

Okay, I'm finished whining.

I sleep well with 8 to 9 hours sleep. I sometimes wake up at 2:30 and stay awake for about an hour but manage to go back to sleep until getting up. I do not sleep during the day and that helps sleeping at night, too.
I don't sleep during the day, either but, I sometimes wish I could. Not sleeping during the day doesn't seem to help with sleep at night, for me. I haven't yet figured out what the formula is for consistent good sleep. Sometimes I go through phases of sleeping really well and then, for no reason I can uncover, phases of not so great sleep patterns.

First world problems, I know.

Seasonally, year to year during these 9 years of retirement, my activities have varied greatly and so have sleeping hours. On nights I am out at music clubs, am often up into the wee hours. On ordinary fall/winter nights, try to retire in the 9pm to 11pm range and then awake between 5am to 7am. So may get from 5 hours to 8 hours sleep. I wake up a few times each night, turn, and go back to sleep and if drinking many fluids during a day am likely to get up at night 2p. Even when backpacking in a sleeping bag on the ground, in a tent get up so. Because I don't drink any caffeinated drinks or alcohol, my system isn't affected by those usual drugs that affect many people's circadian rhythms.

I'm a light sleeper, easily awakened by odd sounds and often wear foam earplugs since I live in an upscale urban residential/retail zone with much street traffic noise. Also, my residence has poor sound proofing. As a light, slim male, I can sleep on surfaces others would find uncomfortable and in various odd sitting positions. Very oddly, I dream 100% of the time while asleep, even if just nodding off for moments and always wake up from active dreaming. Also, my brain motor cortex, seems to be fully disconnected from my dream world so never move any body parts while asleep. Would be quite safe sleeping on a cliff edge without restraints.

Long ago, noticed different women's body temperatures vary greatly. Many people cannot sleep touching others skin directly even in cooler conditions because that can make them clammy, sweaty. My average body temperature, beyond just because I'm thin, tends to be noticeably lower than normal and am not the sweaty type with drier skin. Women can wrap me up like an octopus while sleeping without them feeling uncomfortable. At higher temperatures, as when above 80F at night, am just as sweaty as others.

Since I had a physically active day yesterday, I was sure I’d sleep well. Only if you count the first 20 minutes. Wide away, up, down, walked around the room, etc, etc. Finally took a pill a 3 and woke again at 4:20. Took a smaller pill and slept until 7:45.

I sleep like a baby. I wake up crying every few hours and want fed.

Really, I sleep well, but there are times when the bad dreams make an appearance. Then it becomes a long night lying in bed awake for hours until daylight.

Last night slept fairly well, but generally only get about 6 to 7 hours. I found that having to get up at night at least once and somtimes twice for bathroom is a big interference to good sleep, because the time it takes to get back into a good sleep.

I need 8-9 hours of sleep each night. I take 100mg of Trazadone at 9pm, then a couple of gummies at 10pm. I typically fall asleep around 1am. I wake up between 9:30 and 10am. Between the medications and the fact that I have two air towers for white noise in the bedroom, I sleep like the dead. I do have strange dreams, though.

Hubs is up at 7:30 every morning and knows he won't see me until much later. Since he's out of town, I was worried the cats would be meowing outside my bedroom door, but even they respect my schedule. :ROFLMAO:

I've been waking up with a bit of sore back the last several mornings so I dropped the firmness of my sleep number mattress by 10 points and lowered the head a few degrees. This morning when I woke.....pain free. Love my bed.
I love the sleep number. It has helped my back so much over the years that I can't believe it. I wish we would have gotten one before we did.

I've been sleeping, but have been having strange dreams that make no sense. I wake up about 5 or 6 & fall back to sleep & finally wake up around 8:30 or 9. I don't like to fall back to sleep once I wake up because I feel like I'm exhausted for the rest of the day. Maybe I need to take an extended release melatonin before I hit the sack.

I'm currently getting 8+ hours of sleep nightly. I do wake up 3+ times for restroom breaks, but fall back asleep easily.

I like it when I can push it to 9-10 hours ... I like to imagine that I'm getting back hours from those 5 hour nights of yesterdays.

I only got 8 hours last night, but they were at least pretty decent hours. Something nice happened: as I was waking up, my first thought this morning was, "I feel good." Usually, I'm anxious on waking so that was pretty cool. My work is paying off, I think.

On most nights, I can sleep well. There are nights that I wake up in the middle of the night. There’s an all night donut shop not too far away that I frequent on nights I can’t sleep. I get into some good conversations with truckers.

I have been to the donut shop enough times now, the waitresses know me by name and I know them by name, as well.

Last night I slept for 8.5 hours which isn't enough and the sleep quality wasn't great. I woke feeling out of sorts, tired and headach-y.

Things have improved a bit over the course of the day, but I am still tired and having trouble concentrating.

I think I need to take a more proactive approach to sleep hygiene.

Last night, when I went to bed, I had all my before bed rituals completed, rather than waiting and I did sleep a bit longer than recent previous nights. About nine hours of decent sleep. I'll take it.
