Busy day today. It started out with a very early morning text from my older daughter saying their power had gone out during the blizzard. Luckily, it came back on within a few hours.

My friends and I had our annual Christmas tea at one person's house. During the year we meet every Friday at a coffee shop, and attendance can be sporadic, but at Christmas we all make an extra-special effort to be there, and we exchange small gifts. I look forward to it every year.

Then my younger daughter and her boyfriend came over for an early Christmas dinner, movie, and gift exchange.

It's kind of strange because these past few days have been quite busy, but next week, when it actually IS Christmas, things for me will be quiet. Except for work, of course! 😄

I put away the rest of yesterday's laundry. Deja had a vet appointment this evening, so I cleaned out her carrier and lined it with a wee-wee pad just in case. Glad I did because when we got there, she peed. The vet sensed that she was very nervous. She spoke to her and treated her so gently. This is the first time she's seen Deja. Her other vet, who owns the business, was taking care of the dogs tonight. I really like this new doctor. who is more personable and I hope she sees Deja next year. She surprised me when she said it was only her second week there.

She gave my baby her distemper shot and took blood. She tried twice in one vein...and nothing. At first I told her not to try again, but Deja's never had blood work so I told her to try one more time using another vein. She got some blood, but not enough to do a full profile. Geesh...Deja's like me (or the way it used to be with me). They also trimmed her nails. Deja never moved a muscle nor made a sound while they were examining, sticking her and trimming. It's always like that.

But she gives us a hard time when we try to brush her and clip the claws. Just trying to put her in the carrier tonight...we we had to chase her around with the hand vac and corner her in the bathroom. Her heart is good but she's a bit overweight. The vet said house cats often have that issue, so no judgement. Me and Deja are going to have to exercise more. The assistants are also very nice and good with Deja. One of them wanted her so bad when she was a kitten. 😺 I had taken Deja there twice before I realized this "person" I heard talking behind the glass partitioned receptionist area is actually a bird! She was saying Hello a lot tonight.
😄

Morning all, when I first woke up at 4:30, looked out the bedroom window all the snow we had on ground was gone. When I opened the livingrm blinds, could see the flag was really whipping, knew I wasn't; going outside today I ck'd the temp on my phone, 45& raining

Afternooon SF peeps... 🌺 🍂

It's been a glorious sunny day today .☀️☀️.. and the perfect day for me to take the stuff to the recycle centre.. which is in the next town....but I've pulled a muscle in my right shoulder blade... so it would have been too painful not to mention dangerous to drive... *sigh*...

I've taken some muscle relaxants and with luck it'll sort itself out and tomorrow is set to be nice day too... so maybe I'll get it done then..altho' I do have reservations about driving on the Saturday before Christmas... the roads will be chocka....

I went up to the Barn earlier, and I have no idea how or when it happened but a box of milk 12 pints.... had fallen off the shelf... and taken 2 , 2 litre bottles of Soda with them... what a mess.... 😧

Anyway I've able to have the windows open all afternoon.. to air the place out, no windows have been open for about 4 days due to the rain... I do like a nice fresh smelling house..

.... it's just past 3pm now.. it'll be dark in an hour again...

Have the best day you can folks... 🌺

Went to the lift at 8am and it was raining at 5750' of elevation! Disgusting, gray, and bleak. There is 6" of hot schmooo on top..........damp, wet snow that had fallen overnight. There are only a few, narrow runs open so the chances of injury from the crappy snow aka "leg breaker", the wet chair lift seats, and likely a bunch of over amped skiers (virtually all type A's - myself included) makes for a dangerous combo so I bailed.

It's been a frustrating 25 days of ski season so far, but it's supposed to break off clear and cold w a low of 0°F tomorrow morning, with a couple feet more snow predicted in the following days. Thankfully there is a process called sublimation that essentially extracts moisture from snow when it's exposed to cold, dry air so conditions should be great tomorrow at least.

Today I need to make a key lime pie for a holiday party tonight, go to the gym, and do some snow blowing before it turns to concrete over night.

I'm having intrusive thoughts of chocolate candies. A few weeks ago I bought a bunch of kinds to put out by the elevator for my neighbors next week, but I kept getting into them and finally gave up and put the remaining ones out the past few days.

Now there are no more chocolates in the house and I'm suffering withdrawal, can't stop thinking about chocolates with toffee pieces, with mint cookie pieces, with candy cane pieces, etc. We live in the most wonderful age of chocolate. Oh no, now I'm thinking about fudge, luckily there is no cocoa in the house.

Today (in between visions of chocolates) I went and saw a model train setup at the local Botanical gardens, I particularly liked the toy people and animals in the exhibit. Here is a funny scene of dogs waiting for the fire hydrant:

I started that Mounjaro on Sunday. Yep, it works, appetite totally gone but I have been really sick. Stomach aches, I ate toast and soup and even that makes me sick. I slept really good couple of days ago but know I have been up going on 28 hours.

Took a muscle relaxer, that did not help. Took a xanax, did not make me sleep but helped the headache belly ache. I just think my body had got to get used to this new thing. I was worried about giving the shot in my belly but it did not hurt at all!!
Sharon Osbourne who has taken Mounjaro to excess now... at the beginning she said it made her sick for 3 months...

I do know your body has to adjust to any new med. I have no intention of losing that much weight....all the celebs that do this are nuts. We are not meant to be that thin IMO.

Then they have a face lift, do all these fillers and botox, which them appear like cartoon characters. I just need to get some weight off, help lower my A1C and feel better. I must confess I just bought a bunch of new clothes on good sales. They are for my size now not smaller. I like my clothes to be loose, don't like tight things so I hope to still be able to wear them.

you're going to be very succesful, I'm sure. For a start you're 100 % more inteligent than these celebrities who have used these weight reducing drugs to excess.... ..and if you find that your body can't cope with the mounjaro...then there's other alternatives similar drugs... I wish you everything you wish for yourself..

Did some light chores, ran the dishwasher twice and set up my new bread maker. Had a couple of phone conversations with HS#3 and a good friend. Scooped the litter box twice.....last time as part of the routine to get the garbage ready for my son to take out when he got home, which was very late tonight.

OMGoodness HoneyNut. Sounds exactly like what I go through with ice cream! So I feel for you. I have a bunch of Russell Stover sugar free chocolate-pecan and choc-coconut candies here. I bought a few bags months ago at a good price on Amazon. I keep them in a cool spot but have only eaten a few pieces, so I hope they don't get stale. I eat chocolate in spells.

And that's a funny picture! :D

My day today has been an exercise in holiday frustration.

I drove to Hobby Lobby to get some beading supplies, a gift certificate and a book on beading for one of the Littles. They had lots of beads, but no books on beading.

I then drove to the mall (yes, I know I've vowed to not go to the mall, but....) to get a book and a gift certificate from Barnes & Noble for another Little. Not only did they not have the book (even though they said they had it), the computer was "down" and they couldn't activate gift cards. Arrrggghhh.

So I then drove many more miles to Michaels (of course, none of these stores can be anywhere near each other). They don't seem to answer the phone so I took a chance and went there. Nope, they didn't have the book. So I sat out in the parking lot and ordered one from Amazon that...I HOPE...will get here by Christmas.

I went to Ross to see if I could find some pajamas for my Granddaughter. None I'd consider giving to anyone I liked. I also tried Marshall's and Target. Nope. Scratch the idea of pj's. I'm finished with pj's. She's getting money.

Since I absolutely REFUSE to return to the mall to get the Barnes & Noble gift card, I decided to buy a book and put 20 dollar bills in some of the pages. Stop at the bank to get nice crisp cash and think...aha, I'll use that debit card that I have a couple of thousand of dollars on (that's how the people at my last clinical trial paid me for participating). Nope, didn't work. The expiration date was in October. No problem, because I was assured by a very nice young man who spoke excellent, if accented, English that the money was safely there and he'd immediately send me a new debit card. Didn't help me today, so I had to use my regular debit card to get cash.

Stopped by a store to get a certain kind of candy for the Spousal Equivalent. They were out of it.

I decided I would drive through McDonald's to get a 4-pack of chicken nuggets (the only thing I'll eat from McD's except for their french fries) and they were closed for remodeling.

I decided it was time to head home and sob for a while. No, I didn't really cry. I groused and moaned to the Spousal Equivalent until he was tired of hearing about it and here I am.

Bah, Humbug!!!
Holy moly Jujube!!! Unbelievable. I hope that at least what you ordered from Amazon comes in time for Christmas.

Planning to have a quiet day today. I live alone and no-one is joining me for Christmas yet I seem to be racing round like a mad thing at the moment. Yesterday I suddenly felt very tired at 7pm and had a little lie-down and woke up at 4am ! Our bodies look after themselves if we let them.

G'morning peeps f SF.🍂

.it's coming up to 8am.. just getting light... and was getting myself ready to go to the recycle centre...nice and early before the traffic.. the Saturday before Christmas builds up.. and I looked out and there's a thick Fog.! 🌫️🌫️🌫️😧

There's no way I'm driving in a dense fog on a manic shopping Saturday.... so I'll wait until it hopefully clears which could be an hour or 2.. but the problem with that is that by then the roads will be jammed solid.. *sigh*... 🚙🚙🛻🚌🚎🚗

Well whatever you're doing on this weekend before Chritmas , have the best you can.... 🎄🎄

Morning folks!!! My nap yesteday caused my early
wake up at 4a m today I think....ah welll.....unsure what I'll get up to today, got to clip nails which I
dread, have a bit of washing to do....I have not
connected with my barberess yet so need to try
again, she may not have open time with this holiday
season.....it's okay tho, not like anyone looks at this
old fart anyway...,,LOL...have good day everyone!!!
