The big day is finally here. A day of gift giving and receiving. So what did you all get?

It's just going on toward 5:00 a.m. The O/H is still in bed.
This year, we decided to give to charities, rather than trade gifts.
However, I just found a Xmas gift bag filled with chocolate & candy treats, here, beside my computer. I did the same for him 🎅 Ho! Ho! Ho!

Nothing yet as I'm waiting for my friend to come over later this morning. I'm single and I, like you, give to charities. I also gave a big box of toys and treats to the animal shelter yesterday.

I didn't expect anything. My family is gone. But a dear friend sent me two beautiful art books on Matisse, my favorite artist. A niece and her daughter sent a big gift card for Aldi and some charming cat toys, And I had a nice visit from an old friend with musicians and music on the deck.
 
My son got me three jigsaw puzzles! That's my favorite fun thing to do.! Hubs got me a new Mr. Coffee machine like he does every few years (?)

Hee! We just like to have a few presents under the tree and something to open after Christmas Eve dinner. Right now everyone's asleep and I'm enjoying watching the sun come up and thinking about all the excited little ones.

Sick. Think it's flu but don't have a test. Must have caught it from DD. She was sick all last week.😷

Good thing I did all the make-ahead stuff yesterday. If I can muster the strength, I'll go across the hall for the gift opening but masked up for sure because masks don't protect us from other people, they protect others from us.
 
my Romanian neighbours just came round a little while ago dressed in Santa outfits, with a HUGE tea tray filled with food for me for Christmas day... couldn't believe the amount of food on it. :eek: :eek:


The food is all Romanian... a salt beef & potato & noodle soup... cheeses, hams, saurkraut, rice balls.. Stuffed vine leaves , salted cod in aspic.. and all those cakes !

I made myself a cup of coffee and had a banana nut muffin this morning.
Neighbors brought over a gift box the other day had cookies and candy in it and when I asked them if they wanted some of the sweets we have around here she said “no thank you. We’re on a diet.
Wife and I had a good laugh about that after they left.
The neighbors are watching their weight but it is okay to fatten up the old people in the neighborhood.
Wife and married daughter started claiming that we wouldn’t exchange gifts any more but then they always give out things on Christmas Day.
Like don’t get me anything but it’s okay if I get you stuff.
I don’t feel bad though because I gave them 50 years of my life in factories so that we can all live good lives.

I gave to a couple of "Go Fund Me's" yesterday. One I know was legit but I'm not sure of the other. Luckily on the other I only donated $10 just in case.
