It's pretty this am, pretty early that is. Took a few laps yesterday, and came home and passed out for a couple hours after skiing. The hill is only 50% open so w the holiday crowds it feels very confining, scary in fact, and town is rocking.

Sad news from Mammoth Mountain in CA where a 30yo ski patroller died of injuries sustained in an avalanche, doing avalanche mitigation work. His partner was injured, but survived. It's not all fun and games out there.

Today resume work outs, chiro, and other domestic chores. Pray for cold wx, we're desperate.

Morning all, what a difference a day makes, yesterday the highest gust of wind, was reported at Buffalo Airport,79 mph { located in suburb Cheektowaga,NY} where weather station is.. I live 20 min south of there, we had nothing like that
This morning at 6:50 I went outside all bundled up, temp was 23 with a slight breeze, walked around building twice before breakfast. We have about 3 inches

The rest of my day read yesterday& today's NYT,read my book, see what the lunch& dinner menu looks like
Every body have a good day

I'm a bit under the weather. Nothing that I can put my finger on.....just run down all of the time. I feel OK enough to do things, but it's sometimes hard to concentrate and I have been napping a lot. Maybe I am coming down with a case of The Lazys. LOL

Last night ended our cold snap, temps will rise today up into the mid 40°'s/7.5°-ish C.....should be nice.

I'm all packed up to go to town, including my gym bag, shopping list, and an 🍎 for Socks, my 🐎 friend.

Good morning, everyone. It is cold, only 41 degrees with high 55 degrees today. Tonight freezing at 32 degrees. We will have to cover my gardenia plant.

My grocery delivery is about to be delivered. Everything is available in my order.

I do online picture puzzles when I can be on the computer at times.

Have a great day, everyone and stay warm in the colder areas of the country. :)

I am in a rush to get a lot of work done today so I can enjoy the Twilight Zone marathon, which I've watched on New Year's Eve/New Year's Day for decades. My kids and I would get up when it started, very early in the morning on New Year's Eve, and camp out on sofas and the floor for the next 48 hours. I'd prepare hearty appetizers instead of a formal meal, and we'd eat in front of the TV, dozing off when we wanted to. We'd also usually do simple games or activities like scratch art.

We also had a lighted beverage fountain that I got on sale at Walmart one year that we'd use, with some sort of fruit punch. It was fun!

I've skipped the marathon the past few years because it brings back such painful memories of my son. (His favorite episode is "Will the Real Martian Please Stand Up?") But I can't avoid everything that reminds me of him or else I'd live life huddled in my apartment, never going anywhere or doing anything. I'm bracing myself for some tears, though.

I'd better get going on my work!

Hope everyone has a great day.

Took the bobbin part of swing machine apart.
Oiled the parts that needed oiled.
When putting the tiny red cap back on the oil bottle,,lost the cap!

We looked last night,,no luck.
This morning I'm looking in the shelves,,hoping to find that little cap.
Don't want the sewing machine oil leak out,,like the last bottle did!

Still cold & SNOWY here,,more forecast for rest of week,,,may end up with 12 inches!!!!!!

Hope everyone stays safe & warm

Will do laundry this Tuesday morning, resupply food at supermarket, and continue watching YouTube ancient Egypt history series. Given more solid weather forecasts now, looks like my first day of snow skiing this winter will be next Sunday 1/4/2026 and then will do a couple days later in the mid week. Next Monday, have scheduled my 2023 Trailblazer LS bought used with 22k miles last June for an oil change/tire rotation at the dealer.

Had a wonderful day doing absolutely nothing yesterday. A well earned rest. Speaking of resting, I somehow slept until 8:15 this morning despite falling asleep at my regular time around 11 PM!!! I don't think I've slept that long since my Covid bout last spring! Usually I'm up between 4:30 and 5:30.

Today we'll start bringing in the outdoor Christmas decorations because — believe it or don't — it's supposed to start raining today. Again. Rain is forecast for the next several day. California's wildflowers should be plentiful and gorgeous next spring. Rain also brings hope that we won't have terrible wildfires like the ones that raged here last winter.

Four year old grandson is on his way here, and will be spending the night. ♥

1. Yesterday I went to the chiropractor to get my tectonic plates readjusted which never last very long, because they are so deteriorsted.. And to get gas it was windy and freezing mucking cold so that’s all I did.

2. This morning I had to go back to town to see my regular MD for a six month checkup. He gave me a shot of dexamethasone a prescription for indomethacin which is a high NSAID, told me I am nowhere near ready for the nursing home and sent me on my way.🤸🏾‍♀️🤸🏾‍♀️

This Segway’s to going to Kroger to get my prescriptions which were not going to be ready for 2-1/2 more hours. I said I live 15 miles out of town. put them on hold until next Monday on my next trip back to town. I don’t need them that bad.

I picked up an hours worth of groceries and left. Leaving Kroger to go home there is a street on the edge of town with lots of little houses but no sidewalks. One end also has good size ditches on both sides. That means whomever is walking needs to walk on the road so people need to pay attention for the walkers.

Here’s what I wish the walkers would do that end up getting hit by cars because it’s them who aren’t paying attention:

Get off your mucking Cell Phone you female moron, dog. If you’re not in your early to mid 40s or even late 40s, you look like you ought to be, and that means you really know better than to have your nose buried in your cell phone while you’re walking along the edge of a road with the city traffic. Orrr are you waiting for someone to hit you so you can sue the pants off of them when you’re really the one at fault😡😡

I don’t care who it is or what’s going on in a person‘s life, there is no excuse for having a nose buried in a cell phone while walking down the side of a busy street. An older busy street in town that doesn’t have much room for two cars to pass much less have a walker walking it.😡😡

The End🤠🤠🤠🤠

Good morning, SFers! Final 2025 party is in the books, and the house is mostly put to right. A few post-party chores ahead of DH & me, but nothing serious. I put sweatpants on this morning as a reminder to myself throughout the day that this is a day for chillaxing.

Our older GKs wanted to come back today and spend the night, but DH & I begged off. We need at least one recovery day after hosting a big party.

DD & DSIL commented that they hadn't frosted a single cookie throughout any of this year's gatherings, and DH & I realized the same was true for us. So we planned it for New Years Eve, during the day.

They'll come for lunch and cookie decorating, and leave no later than 4 PM to avoid early drunken NYE revelers on the road. Thinking Mexican food for that lunch. Tamales, rice & beans, Caesar salad. They're easy to hang with - as are our two other kids and their families.

Hope all are making today a good one!

What a nice idea for New Year's Eve.

Evening Peeps of SF....it's racing towards 8.30pm now.. and it's 0 deg .. 🥶 🥶

Just had dinner, fish fillets and beans.... and I always eat off a tray now in front of the tv... and I usually watch an old episode of Upstairs Downstairs.. or a comedy drama ... or a Quiz ....while having my dinnner.. and tonight it was Only Connect which is a high brow quiz.. and I think myself brainy if I get 1 answer correct, and tonight I got 2...lol.. maybe the fish is helping my brain cells... :ROFLMAO:

I just looked this up - didn't realize it was a robot vacuum cleaner/mop. $1500.00? Wowza! I hope it works like a charm. Please keep us posted.
Set up won't be until this weekend. My son will come over to do that for us. According to him he can set it up to do selected rooms , selected times, selected days . To be automatic or with voice commands.

I'm no fool I know when to ask for help.

Per above, went to a Walmart Neighborhood Market where they had dozens of these Marie Callender 30.3 ounce frozen, No Bake, Coconut Cream Pies on sale in a large freezer box for just $1 that are normally $7.32. Also for just $1, some same size Lemon Meringue Pies and Chocolate Satin Pies. People thought it was a mistake, so I just took one. But at the self checkout it indeed showed $1. Yea! Am letting a section thaw out and if it is as good as expected, will drive the 3 miles each way to buy a few more. :p
